Finally getting Airpods!

I finally caved and bought the airpods last month too when my latest bluetooth earbuds went dead. It's great! Love the quick and easy connection with my iphone/mac. Also love the long battery life with the case.

Something I appreciate about the AirPods is that they have the strongest Bluetooth connection I’ve found. I have a pair of Plantronics (which are still probably going to be my go-to for outdoor sports) that are a big upgrade over some Skullcandy ones I had before, in terms of keeping a steady connection and not needing to be right next to my phone. But AirPods are pretty amazing. I can leave my phone anywhere in the house, on any floor of the house, and I don’t lose connection while I’m getting housework done.

When I first saw the airpods I chuckled and said never..how's that saying go, never say never? My Airpods are my favorite Apple tech atm...I can't imagine not having them.

Black airpods would be great.

Yes you can put them in the case with most skins and they will still charge. Just maybe not the ones with thicker silicon type ear tips. As long as you don’t cover the contacts at the bottom with the skin you’re good. I recommend mighty skins on Amazon - great price and fast shipping, easy to apply and stay on quite well.

I was recently thinking about getting them as well. Just couldn’t get over the way they look. Ended up getting BeatsX. Love’em. The wire is a little annoying at times, but overall they are great.

You dont really see the jaybirds at all without the fins(which ive never used) and over the ear. Having the cable behind on the back of your hair you dont feel any pulling. Its a much cleaner look

Agreed. The Freedoms are really discreet looking. I don’t use the wings on them because the earpiece alone is a great fit into my ear with the the small comply tip creating a great seal. They are small yet provide astonishing sound quality. I too believe the white AirPods scream, “look at my ears!” and my large ears are not exactly my best attributes/facial features . A jet black or matte black version would probably sway my opinion and I still have hopes for v2.

Get some actual comply tips from their site. Much better then the ones they have in the box they never move with those ones and isolate much better(they are "stickier")

They're just so much more convenient for everything than any wired headphones.

Agreed, agreed, agreed. One of the best buys this year for me. The Freedoms still have that ugly cable in the neck i see? Yeah that's "really discreet looking". Not.

I feel like anyone who thinks they look like tampons doesn’t have much experience with tampons.

I worry about my Airpos getting lost. These are worse.
I had the jaybirds, charging is a pain. Yeah Airpods stick out. But add a skins and they disappear.
Bottom line for me is AirPod plain work and work well with easy setup, sound and versatility. Yes they could be smaller and wrap around he ear. Then they would be called hearing aids. Almost any change reduces the audio quality and battery life.

AirPods are a win! Add a few mods like volume control an Apple version of colors and wings and of course apples normal smaller-lighter-faster-better battery life features. These will be game over for all the competitors.

True but that one review is not a true review. Besides I didn’t go black I went with desert camo. At any rate the Mighty Skins are really good quality skins regardless of color choice and AirPods are damn near perfect too.
