My Intel iMac 2GHz Core Duo w/ 2GB Ram and 256MB VRam is by far the fastest Mac I have ever used.
I agree. I have the same machine and it is incredibly fast. I had a Rev. B 2.0 Ghz iMac before it, and while it was really fast, this thing is night and day difference. It's not uncommon for me to be playing WoW (in windowed mode), playing music in iTunes, talking on iChat, and looking at things on Safari at once. Well not at once, but I think you get the picture.;)

I've also done all of the above while having a video chat going and not once has it bogged down. Needless to say I'm very impressed so far.

I had a play with a couple of intel imacs on sunday and was blown away by the speed of safari. If only my damn mbp would arrive I could get used to the speed!

I also just got a hands on experience with the new iMacs in the Apple Store in Seattle WA. I was completely blown away by the speed. I thought it opened applications faster than the Quad with 10GB of ram did. The MacBook Pro's were slower than the desktops but MUCH faster than the PowerBooks. I actually thought that the 2.0GHz iMac was faster than the Quad, in terms of opening/closing applications, going on the web etc. It just seemed snappier.

Quicker does not equate to faster. Opening up applications quicker is one thing, the application completing a task faster is another. So what do you all care about more, getting the app open quickly or getting the task at hand processed faster? I prefer the latter.:D
