Hello, I need some advice.

I’m using a Mac Studio M1 Max and after yesterday’s update to macOS Tahoe 26.1, Finder has started to lag significantly whenever I try to save or select a file through a dialog window. For example: in Illustrator I choose “Save As…”, the Finder dialog opens, and everything becomes extremely slow and takes a long time to load. The same issue occurs when uploading a file on a website.

However, when I open Finder on its own, it runs completely smoothly without any slowdown.

I’ve restarted and fully powered off the Mac several times, but the issue persists.
Do you have any suggestions on how to resolve this? It’s quite disruptive to my workflow and project delivery.

Thank you,
Jirka

I don't know if mine was the same. Anything involving Finder showing the Open/Save window became extremely slow. In my case turning off Desktop & Documents in iCloud instantly cured it, and I have kept it off. If you don't have Desktop & Documents in iCloud turned on then yours is a different issue.
