I don't know. With the Mate 7 that i used, i always had issues unlocking the device with my finger. It worked on every other scan. Maybe it was because I had a faulty Mate 7 but nothing compares to Apple's fingerprint scanner. On top of that being jailbroken to wake an iphone or lock/unlock apps? No contest.

I have no clue about what they are saying regarding the I6 overly complex animations. My use case is the phone is in my pocket and I can unlock it while pulling it out of my pocket and when the phone is front and center it's unlocked. I could care less if it takes .2 milliseconds or .4 milliseconds. Its' ready to use. (as I'm sure this could be done with the other devices also)
Touch is obviously more quicker and convenient than Swipe, but I didn't have such a terrible success rate on the Note 4, as I pretty much mastered the swipe. For me it was an error about 1 out of every 100 times. I think the success rate of the Note 4 is purely an ergonomics issue of many.
I can't judge the difference between the S6 and iPhone fingerprint sensor. They both just work flawless 99% of the time.

My own experience with both the iPhone 6 and s6 is that the iPhone is faster, no question. However it also seems to fail more often. I have to retry more often with the iPhone.
On the s6, for some reason, it's especially slow when it's unlocking into an app. Particularly with hangouts. If hangouts is the app you're unlocking into, it just hangs and takes forever to unlock.

Huawei is better than anyone. Not only is the scanner on its back comfortable to reach and operate (especially considering the size of the Mate7), but it's also the only one to let you in without requiring you to wake up the device. But security concerns will also prevail along with the lightening speed and quick response.
It is weird. I definitely don't get instant. Is t instant for you even when opening into an app? Let the phone sleep a little when you take notice.

THIS.......The scanner on the back makes more sense to me. It would seem to add more ease of use.
Plus it would free up space and let OEMs reduce the bezels in the front of the phone.
It was always kind of slow. Or I should more accurately say, it was never instant. People claimed the latest update made it faster. I just don't see any difference.
And like I said, when opening into an app, it just straight up hangs. To be clear: it doesn't fail. So it's not like it's not reading my finger properly or I don't have it placed there correctly. It just literally hangs for a bit before unlocking and loading.
It's a very noticeable "lag" if you will.
That's odd. Not sure if anybody else has has issues. Unless I'm just one of the lucky ones. Where you based? Might be the carrier units they received?

Really? And it'll keep everything the same? Like all my photos will still be sorted into their proper order/dates? It won't just be July 9th, and a massive photo dump of all my photos?
Cause that's the main thing. Apps, etc, I can always reinstall and replace easily.
Thanks for the suggestion. Please tell me more if you've had experiene with Smart Switch. If it's possible, I would like to factory reset.
Smart switch is pretty decent, but it's not even close to Apple. With Apple you would never know you switched phones, no extra work setting anything up, nothing whatsoever, it's a complete mirror image. That's one thing I miss. I can't see that being that difficult for Google to implement in the OS.
Almost it only does it from the time if your last backup. I do like that I can hook up to iTunes and do a backup to my iMac. Buy a another iPhone then restore that backup to my new phone.
Not sure if it's a complete image or just changes since last backup--similar to the way Time Machine works on a Mac. Either way, if I were to restore my iPhone right now, it would be exactly as it was at the moment of the last backup.
Google could very easily do this if they just mandated that developers have app data backed up--presently that's not the case. One of my few pain points with Android, especially for those of us that would switch devices regularly.
Agree about the bezels but it has its flaws as well. There are plenty of times I unlock my phone without holding it in my hand--for instance resting on a table/counter or in my car dock. Especially with the car dock, I wouldn't be able to use the scanner.
Also, it's far more ergonomic for Tap to Pay with the front position since in most cases, I'm tapping the payment terminal exactly where my finger would be on the rear panel.
IMO, the ideal solution is integration of the functionality into the front display and it sounds like that's not too far off. Until then though, I'd rather have it where Apple and Samsung position it.
