This is what you see in your personal video library in the new TV app.

You don't get full file names. No dates or file sizes. No search or sorting capabilities. An excessive amount of white space (expecially on iPad Pro). Clearly the Library portion of the app was an afterthought. But then why not just leave the video app the heck alone?!? This is absolute garbage.

Here's an idea Apple....how about something simple like this? Just add another column with date added and then allow sorting by name, date or file size and add a search feature. How difficult is that?

Apple appears to be ignoring people who want local media and designing o lay for the cloud... as a digital file hoarder I do not like this trend at all...

Microsoft started it with Office 2013. The bland washed out UI is so god damn lame. Apple followed. As did so many other companies.

I downloaded the Infuse app. It can access locally stored video. Offers list view and supports split view, PIP and AirPlay. I'm liking it so far though I wish the list view included date. $12.99

I don't have a problem with so-called flat design. I have a problem with way too much white space.

I will say that the new TV app is annoying. As great as it is to be able to combine a lot of my services, my main two are iTunes and Netflix. So they are still separate. Plus, I thought they played in the TV app...I didnt know when I played something on HBO it would switch apps. It is kind of annoying. I don't like it and the videos app should have been left alone.

I'm not exactly sure what the point of the TV app is right now. Like TechnoBuffalo said, it's a steaming pile of garbage right now.

If they're not DRM-protected, why not use a 3rd party app then? The original video app wasn't great for local video either unless iTunes-sourced.

Also for those using it re: netflix, on te plus side, you can still search all of netflix and launch playback from TV. It just can't keep track of netflix position because Netflix wants to retain that data for themselves.

Infuse is a great 3rd party app for local videos, supports airplay and chromecast, subtitle grabbing, bypass of iTunes for loading, and search for the files via Spotlight.

Did Apple get rid of the Videos app that easily gets you to your paid iTunes movies?

Hate to be THAT person, but you should be grouping those under Music Videos so they appear in the Music app. That way you can have them along with an artist's albums/singles/bootlegs/whatever. There's a specific section to browse videos in there too. They aren't "Home Videos" anyway.

But yeah, that's pretty terrible, especially the second page. The Music app is fine handling video in comparison.

I am using Infuse now, downloaded it last night. Works great! Ashamed to admit but prior to yesterday I assumed no app other than the video app could access local device content. Glad I now know that's not the case. Good riddance TV app.

I never got that to work, and I hate iTunes so much I basically gave up trying.

I can't be the only person missing autoplay next episode?? Why remove it entirely, just give the option to turn on or off.
Videos app was great...easy to use, easy to manage content.

Plus, help me out here, but why would you call it "TV" when you already have "Apple TV"??? Confuses people, makes it hard to find support simply for TV App and not Apple TV.

Yeah that's a good point. It is annoying looking up troubleshooting for photos because the name photos doesn't single it out

I gather it is really designed (badly) for apple TV people and those of us who don't use Apple TV suffer. Why they couldn't have a separate app for TV searching ????

Anyone hear of a fix for the TV app for continuous play? Is it coming or is Apple completely ignoring?
