Great thread. My wife made me get rid of all my firearms when we got hitched. :(

So when someone breaks into your house in the dark of night can you throw your wife at the intruder? :D

Me and my Noveske, before I got rid of all my guns because they are evil and someone needs to think of the children.

My Air stuff...The rifle is a heavily customised .22, the handguns are ...C-15, and a Sig Suer X5.

Oddly enough, the C-15 has a much higher FPS muzzle velocity than the Sig.

Sig comes in at 360-380, where the C-15 achieves 480. The rifle of course blows them both away. For target stuff both the handguns are great, and I prefer the weight and balance of the Sig despite it's lower power.

My upper build project is now complete with testing of the ACOG T31RCO-M150 at distance (yards) to get hold under data using the M150 meter scale reticle.

damn...those are attractive.
approx. how much is a pistol comparable to any of these? i definitely want to learn more about gun safety and potential ownership.

A Glock 17 runs around $500.

A Sig X5 runs around $1500 and up.

The Glocks are quite reliable, will run dirty, and are very easy on the wallet. I own five Glock 17s (gen 3 and 4) and never had a problem with any of them. It's a great starter pistol.

From the fsguns.com site:

"“4th Gen Glocks are on the latest MA Approved Roster list. Does that mean that we can now buy them from a MA firearms dealer?”
We get quite a few phone calls every day asking us this question. The answer is: No. Massachusetts firearms dealers cannot legally sell Glock handguns manufactured after October 21, 1998 unless it is to a law enforcement official who is using it “for official duty use only”.

There are are 2 set of “rules” in MA...the State laws and the regulations (also known as CMR’s). Under the State laws (MGL Chapter 140) Glocks are listed on the MA Approved Roster List.

However, under the MA Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Regulation (CMR 940 16.00 et seq) Glocks do not comply because they don’t have the required loaded chamber indicator. Post 10/21/98 handguns sold in MA must comply with both the laws and regulations in order to be sold legally. MA dealers are subject to a $5,000 per handgun fine for selling a non-compliant handgun under this CMR.

Because Glocks are listed on the Approved Roster, dealers can sell Glock handguns that were manufactured prior to the inception of the AG’s regulations which was 10/21/98)"

So in MA we are not allowed to own any Glocks made after 10/21/98.
Messed up or what?

Duly noted! Thank you for your response. Gotta admit my appreciation for the "Made in USA" on it too.

Bob, I see you're from MA. Here is a good site http://www.fsguns.com

Thank you for your response. Born, raised and educated in MA however it's probably once I graduate college in three months that my post-grad opportunities bring me elsewhere in the States.
Nevertheless that law appears to be well intentioned although I personally think it's kind of a shame. Glocks are so pretty!

Trouble with the Sig's is the quantity and of course the German engineering...The Glock is such a popular gun...the Sig less so.

Been carrying a shield in a Crossbreed minituck since they hit the market and I love it. Can pocket carry if I need to, it's light enough it doesn't tug on my belt.

About to replace it with a Sig P220, time for a change and I'm a Sig fanboy. I've got a G17. Loved it until I got myself a real gun and now it sits in the safe. :D

(And yes I'm being cheeky) not looking to start a Glock war.

AKM's

Forgive the photo. It was taken with an iPhone in a dark'ish/weird room not in my house. These are both mine and my Father's guns.

If anyone is interested in a better/close-up photo of any of them, I can do that.

Haha, well they belong to both me and my Father.

He's recently become obsessed. He refused to watch Lone Survivor for some reason, until I told him that there's a lot of AK spraying in it, then he made my Mother watch it with him.

One of these! Yeah I'm English so guns are a rarity here, some specialist units of the police have them, the military, there are some private owners, the odd farmer with his shotgun. But getting a license is pretty hard, they would never give one to me as I have mental health problems. So no guns for mr Doyobi.

But don't underestimate this little fella, you get fresh with me and I can make you quite DAMP. Oh yes.

If someone breaks into my flat I have a Samurai sword and a Commando Dagger but I am quite even tempered and would be more likely to just ask them to leave, please?
