I have been hearing people talk and talk about how buggy the firmware has been. I figured people were just unhappy about how some features now work so didnt pay it much mind. Well I have to apologize for that thinking because Im sure this isnt a feature.

When I am in SMS an I hit text box to send a message sometimes the box goes up no keyboard. sometimes the keyboard goes up and I cant see the message because it is at the top of the screen. I only see the keyboard and grey space underneath. No text box or send button show anymore.

My signal strength is worst since the update also. I lost service altogether in places that I usually had decent service. I only have 1 bar in most places.

My locator is way off my location. usually it was pretty close but now it shows me on the opposite end of town not a few streets away.

Since the 2.0 upgrade, I have been having problems with different iphones with connecting to wifi routers with WPA enabled.

- Exchange Folders not removed from listing in Deleted Folder AFTER they have been deleted in Outlook (Exchange)
- Push capability of email fails after the phone is idle for a period of time
- calendar sync among two desktops through MobileMe not working

Etc.

I have noticed push not working if you dont access your email for a while. it will be 12 at night and my email will say last update 3:30. I also noticed that some emails the text reaches off the screen but I cant scroll side to side to read the end characters at all.

never had wifi issues at home before. Matter of fact i have never had to do anything with wifes cell and wifi at home since she got it. several times now it just wont connect. I had to tell it to forget network and reconnect to it. I run wpa.

1. My battery life has suddenly taken a dive. Battery only lasts me a day with less then average use of phone, internet, etc. I keep brightness down also to preserve battery life.

2. Keyboard buggy. Locks up in the middle of typing.

3. Reception seems not as good. I was in jury duty yesterday and people all around me were making and receiving calls and I had 'NO SERVICE'. People with plastic LG flip phones were making me look stupid.

4. Overall the phone seems lethargic at times. I tap something and it just won't respond or I have to wait 10 or 20 seconds before it recognizes my tap. That, or I have to turn it off and on to reset the phone.

I hope we see some updates quick on this. It's a little annoying.

My main one is when I launch the Settings, i just get the splash screen, and after about a minute, the App just dies.

Oddly, this only happens when i have wifi enabled.

I have been getting the freeze-ups (people are referring to this as lag) in multiple applications. The iPhone wont do anything at all, none of the buttons or touch screen will respond at all for quite a few seconds.

I also notice that safari is crashing a lot more then normal lately.

My problems appear to be with Exchange being enabled and also having other email accounts. I have to reboot the iPhone daily now, usually about the same time each day, which is strange. Basically exchange synch and the email lockup and neither is getting or sending data.

I saw the exchange problem with the directories in the deleted folder not getting removed, but eventually they did go away. Not sure if it was the phone reboot or finally a synchronization with our corporate exchange server cleaned them up and then they were removed from the phone.

1) Mobile Safari

There's a forum that I post to via Mobile Safari, hit 'Post Reply', and up pops the text box for typing in the post.

With 1.1.4 this has always worked fine.

With 2.0, when I go to enter text, it's as if I've hit 'Done' and the entry window is closed (nothing is posted). An annoying regression.

2) Maps

With 1.1.4 I happily tracked my progress on a train journey using cell location, great fun. This is seriously regressed, in that I just get the spinning progress wheel for much of the time. Now it's just a frustrating experience, rather than a cool experience.

In contrast, tracking progress on a bus journey through London worked fine - maybe using wifi hotspots? However, I'd rather the cell tower location was restored to its former glory.

I have notice the email refusing to search for new messages (refresh). it will say 3pm when its actually 6pm and the refresh button wont work at all.

my favorite bug is the password one. It is suppose to hide your password, but if you watch it closely it will be a little slow turning letters and astreix. You can watch them turn, then sometimes it wont it will just leave the charater like it wouldnt normally appear. hahaha

Someone at apple is going to get fired by Uncle Steve hahaha!!!

Uncle bills laughing his butt off at apple right now.

I have noticed this as well. I find that if I change screens in the mail app, go back to Mailboxes for example, that the time will up date when you go back to your inbox. It is annoying.

That's actually a new feature. The last typed character of a password field is displayed for a few seconds before switching to a bullet. Helps make sure you don't mistype passwords.

that must be the step right be for removing the bullets altogether what the point. hahaha

i really dont like t he sms texting on it.
i wish it was not laggy.
the sms texting when i click slide to view and i wanna reply it doesnt show up and i cant view the whole conversation.

I wish they would put the ignore button back the way it is. Sometimes I am not able to read or answer a text right away. I click ignore and the alert indicator on the SMS button disappears. I wish it would stay til i go into that SMS. because when I do have time to acknowledge a SMS i have forgotten I got one and from whom

One of my biggest issues. No fix yet.

iPhone and Outlook

Simple, non-repeating appointments added into iPhone will sync into outlook as a recurrence event. The new appointments do not show up on the host computer under month/day/year views, only under view all (advanced). Only Title, Date, and Location sync properly, appointments notes and alarms do not.

You can bypass this by making appoinments entered in the iPhone as a daily recurrence and ending it on the same day. They will now show up on the host machine under month/day/year views.

Apple, please resolve this issue with the next firmware/ software update. This is really my only gripe...

Thank you!!!!

help !!!!!!!!

Hi friends,

I tried to update from 1.1.4 to 2 but was not successful. So I restored 1.1.4 version. Previously mail was working fine but now it crashes after restoring it. Please do help me can I restore it again by 1.1.4 or Do I have any alternate idea for fixing the mail crash ?

Thanks in advance,
Anand

never-ending reset

Almost everytime an application freezes, the phone resets by itself or i have to manually reset it. While the phone is trying to restart, it gets stuck on the starting screen with the apple on it and it never gets all the way through the reset. If i want it to turn back on i have to either keep resetting it and hope for it to finally work or i have to leave it alone until the battery runs out and then plug it in and start it again.

Just wondering if this happens with anyone else?

yeah when im on the freeway it shows me off the freeway like a couple streets down.
like what if i really get lost?
how will it help me?

I have a question about all of the freezing and crashing bugs that seemed to be caused by large programs or accessing a lot of memory or processor power. I know the processor is a hardware thing so if that is truly the issue then we're stuck. However can the available memory for programs be adjusted by Apple through a software upgrade or is this also a hardware issue. I'd gladly give up more of my 16gb storage capacity if it meant that I didn't have to watch my apps crash when trying to show off my "sweet" iPhone 3G to my friends. Some of them are real Apple haters and like to point and laugh when I try to show off an :apple: device that crashes not that their Microsoft devices never crash, I'm just used to more stability from :apple: than I currently have with my iPhone.

I apologize in advance if this question doesn't meet everyone's tech savvy jargon standards;)

I was on vacation for two months, away from my laptop that contains my iphone info and itunes library. I had purchased some albums and songs while away and hadn't yet transferred to my laptop. I didn't think to transfer the purchases before updating to 2.0 because all the prompts said my phone was being backed up before installing. I lost all of my purchases, at least $100 worth of music.

I have no idea how to get that stuff back. It's a pain in the arse.

Send the iTunes help department an email explaining your situation just like you did in your post.

Use this link: http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/store/move/

Scroll to the bottom of the web page and click on the contact us button.

I had a disk crash and sent them an email and they re-authorized all of my purchases. Make sure that you give them a legit window (time period) of the purchases because if they find a purchase that was used by your computer instead of the iPhone, then they could deny your request.

Good Luck
