No watch commercial, but there is one for iPad. What a letdown.

If they showed a commercial tonight, people would be at the Apple store in the morning asking for it. Why would they start advertising something that doesn't go on sale for more than a month?

I was quite bummed.

I realize the first iPhone ad was eight years ago and the first iPad was five years ago so perhaps you're too young to remember both ran during the Oscar telecast. iPhone did not hit the streets for another 4 months and iPads went on sale in stores Easter weekend which was about 5-6 weeks out from the February 2010 show.

They really could have done something really cool like iPhone and iPad ads years ago...
And it is also a new product category, so they really missed a big opportunity. :(

A very big letdown indeed

Patience people patience

You're right. Besides, that's all we have. I thought the Oscars were the perfect event because 1) Apple's history with iPhone and iPad, 2) the Oscarcast is all about glitz, glamour, fashion, and appeals to female viewers, and 3) outside of the Super Bowl, the Oscars are the biggest event on TV that gets a good cross-section of the audience and because most people watch live, the number of eyeballs reached is greater.

Of course who am I fooling. Apple knows all of this. They must have something really special planned.

One thing we know is that apple doesn't rush. They take their time and they do it right. It will be so much worth the wait. Just so yall know I'm very much antsy too
