Some cliff notes from comments:

Screen is excellent and feels comparative to OLED.

Doesn't seem much faster than last year's model in day to day, although he just got it

Feels very similar to the 2020 model

Nothing surprising, but he luckily got it ready for pickup from Nebraska Furniture Mart of all places.

the fact that the screen quality is that noticeable is promising. have a strong feeling this device will actually match the hype. he doesn't even have the 16gb model!

Geekbench results -

Near double my Geekbench on 2018 12.9 Pro (11,204 vs 21,363).
That’s impressive but mind you that won’t translate in to real world speed for most usage. My 2018 12.9 doesn’t really feel much faster day to day than my 2017 10.5 and the A12X was a larger step up from the A10X than the M1 is over the A12X/A12Z.

I think the real story with the 2021 iPad Pro is going to be what can be done to utilize the massive RAM increase and the new miniLED display.

Why is Reddit always first to leak these new devices mere days before they're released (and even before the embargo)?

This happened before with the iPad Pro 2020/Magic Keyboard a day or two before the rest of the general public got them.

Reddit didn’t get it early or leak it. A random user on Reddit got his hands on one and is showing it off.

I agree. The OP over on Reddit says he doesn't see real difference and that's not surprising with most usage.

Well, I'll be damned... incredible that someone got one early, I hope they capitalize on it.

Pretty much exactly what I (and others) was saying around here on the forums, gonna blow benchmarks away but otherwise it provides an end user experience nearly indistinguishable from the 2020/2018 iPad Pro... questionable if upgrading is worth it unless you have specific needs (IE, 4K video compression, even then I'm betting the difference will be around 15% to 20%). This isn't a game changer even though some have suggested it would be.

I suppose future software might demand it's power, but Apple isn't going to fragment their tablets enough to provide the M1 iPad Pro with it's own unique ecosystem.

In one of his posts he’s saying that he’s been a Samsung galaxy tab S7+ owner and that with regards to the screen
Quote :” the colours look better and the iPad gets brighter”. In HDR content the iPad is better. In non HDR at 1080p black level tests are still great

he basically says it looks like the 7+ OLED but with better colour calibration

Its alot faster, just no one can notice it dince no apps utilize the speed yet
until WWDC and fall 2021 when the apps are coming that will work a lot better with 8gb ram....
ipad pros with 6gb will be still fine, but those with 4...will have to upgrade..
Just guessing here..but affinity photo app has some hiccups on the 4gb ram 10.5" ipp vs the 2020 model

On the Center stage feature :
” works as advertised. Kinda cool, very smooth.”

Q : does Center stage adjust FaceTime in landscape to make it look more natural “
A: “ yes, you can still tell it’s slightly to the side, but it is good.”

Why did they omit mini LED from the 11" again ? Seems very un-apple like for a pro device sibling with a high price tag.
