I live in a large city and don't know anyone besides myself, with a iPhone X (and I have two, if that tells you how much I like the phone). It is a great phone. Looking forward to reading about and seeing the new phones in a few weeks.

You live in Atlanta based on previous readings. I would imagine you would see it least quite a few iPhone X’s in a city that large, Regardless, the popularity of the X has grown exponentially, but it takes time for a new product to be mainstream and for the consumer to adapt to what it has to offer, but if one can justify the price, it has lots to offer.

Don't know anyone who has an X and have only seen one in YouTube videos so i went to see one today in a phone shop, it was on display with all the other phones, I have to say I was expecting the notch to look alot worse but it's not that big or it doesn't come down as much, it does feel a nice and comfortable to hold and use, thinking of getting the new X so just wanted to see the current X, anyone else think it wasn't as bad when they went to see it or bought it?

After seeing what the Pixel 3 notch might look like... puts everything in perspective...

With the leak today it looks like there will be no change to the new XS from last year, got to say I'm little disappointed, thought there might be some little changes, smaller notch/thinner bezels, it's probably a fine thing not to bother upgrading or else get the current X, anyone kinda feel the same?

I don't. I don't need a complete design overhaul every year to keep me interested. I'm more interested in software/internal/camera upgrades.

Ya I'm thinking that there's really not going to be any difference in performance or the look, the X is already very fast, maybe face id sec Gen, other than that it's the same thing.

Really, I don’t mean to pick on your post, but it’s a great example of why you don’t understand the evolution of smart phones, You can’t expect significant form factor changes with an iPhone or any smart phone for that matter on an annual basis. That’s not how it works. Engineering aspects with a smart phone can take years to design the newest phone in advance, with Apple offering a larger 6.5 iPhone X this year, that alone is a major step forward. You can expect to see the same design for the next two, maybe three years before his Apple decides to change it again.

What you will see on annual basis that Apple will change will be with the addition of new colors, perhaps changing the camera to a triple lens for 2019 that’s been rumored, making it thinner, etc. Those are the changes that where the iPhone will mature.

The notch is the most over-scrutised aspect of a phone by online shouters.

The fact many competitor phones copied the design fuelled the fire again, so we have many online Apple & non-Apple users very upset as a result.

Bolded for making the point that it's only the internet ragers who are really angry.

Most reasonable people see the notch (& zero bezels) for what it is - a clever design to fit more usable screen into a smaller form factor.

The main drawback of not being able to watch typical videos in full screen & uncropped, is more due to the iPhone's resolution not lining up with typical aspect ratios, not the notch.

Listen man they had plenty of time to get the X design right, there are many things with the X that was considered an after thought, design /hardware/software, some even said the X was a prototype, it could have been tweaked some bit, that's all, as for not understanding evolution of phones or the like, I'm 36 years dude and i understand quite a bit, is it not more profitable for Apple to just put new internals in the same shell, same headphones and charger for how many years, that's why there the trillion $ company

The x was designed with a notch, so when people bought it a notch is what they got, along with an OLED screen, better processor, better camera etc.

There may have been many who wanted an OLED screen or an improved camera, I willing to bet however that almost no one actually wanted a notch.

Ya i agree with you there, it's just that Apple knew that the X wasn't for everyone for obvious reasons and this year there is no improvement to the design, in all fairness when the X was launched last year mostly everyone played down the notch and said it was a big step forward, which it was, and that next year apple would probably improve the design, reducing notch and bezels, but they haven't, we'll get new color and a better charger. There's no evolution this year!
