I've read a 3 -3.5 hours battery life and up to 8 hours to complete charge.
Your experience thrilled me ... i'd like to buy one for me too :)

I've had my MBA (1.8/SSD) one week and a day, and today I did my first real-life full-drain battery test. I just did my normal day job (web dev) for as long as I could until the battery died, with the screen at full brightness and the wifi on for the last 1/3. And I got 4 hours on the nose. I'm *very* happy with that. :D

Welcome to the world of the mac! Like you, I was a convert. Been
a DOS user during my days spent as a youngling, later, was bestowed
with Windows till my early adulthood.

All my life, I was criticising Mac yadaa yadaa. One day, a trip to the Apple store...I was like WHOOOOOOOOOOOA! The imac is sooo sexy! Plus with all my mac friends saying how virus free mac is. Plus, my lappie hangs a gazillion times a month. I thought, why not get a Mac and try it out.

That was 2 years ago. I'm like NO REGRETS! Thank GOD for the MAC. Virus free! With my Windows PC, i format them often due to virus attacks, spywares and all. But thank GOD, with the Mac, I've never had the need to do such things. They dont slow down like windows. Well, it does slow down a bit only..just by a mere few seconds..but hey...I'm loving mine....!

Thinking of getting either an AIR or MB. hehehe. Sob sob. I love the Air. But its still kinda ex for me. Sob sob. Gotta start saving now. :D

7 months since switching from XP,
I have the MB, so sweet! Next is a REV 2 MBA for the wife, and a 3.0 GHZ i-Mac to replace the AMD Tower, then I'll be all in Apple:cool:very cool

I'm fascinated by it and have almost bought a few times.

Dunno if I want it or a newer MBP. How is the tapered front edge when you sit and type on the couch or in bed? My older MB drove me crazy cause of the sharp edge.

Hi Mikeb,
congrats and welcome on board!

Are you sure about that ?

I get up to 6.5 hours of usage and about 3 hours to charge. I use my Air mainly for email and chat and I've got the SSD version. I go to work and quite often don't even bring my power supply. I actually went to London on Business for two days and I forgot the power supply, by the time I got back to Rome, I still had 20 mins of battery left...

Update 2

I took my MBA on the road (drove to TN). With my old Viao I had a separate laptop bag for it and the power cord, mouse. I went out of town for 4 days with just one bag and trying to find a place to put the power cord because I don't have a laptop bag was odd. It does fell nice not having to lug around a laptop case, put my MBA in its sleeve and dropped it in my bag and left.

All the reviews compare weight of just the MBA and other laptops ..... need to compare it with a loaded laptop bag and then feel the difference.

Battery Life: I was showing my family some pictures on the MBA ..... even with everyone playing with it, able to get just under 3 hours before it got down to 5% left. Screen was full bright.
