The DVD mounts, appears in Startup Disk & boot manager.
But can you actually read all the files inside? It's good to test it in MacOS. The disc shows up doesn't mean that it can work properly.

OK, this is what I think. The DVD mounts, appears in Startup Disk & boot manager.
Yup, it booted in my MacBook. And there's nothing wrong with the DVD drive in my Pro either....But can you actually read all the files inside? It's good to test it in MacOS. The disc shows up doesn't mean that it can work properly.
Yes, agreed, it's basics. But the DVDs are not faulty and both optical drives are working correctly.it's trouble shooting basics, if you have a problem check each step.
the boot media is the first step in the chain of events so new boot media is a valid test.
but it's up to you other options have been mentioned by me, like using clone software from your SSD brand (i used the crucial one last time i think)
Worth a try.....I think of something - could you download, I will give you a link if needed, Win7 and burn it?
And try installing from the burned DVD see what happens.
Maybe we can begin with this and solve the other issues after.
I'll want that link- I have 8.1 and 10, but not 7.Good. If you dont find Win7, I would be able to send you a link tomorrow afternoon.
Just let me know
Yes, yes, I know…it's on a PCIe card and I'm not going to pull it every time I try and install Windows. Carbon Copy Cloner sorted it out anyway. And you don't need to pull drives, you just need to not erase or otherwise mess with them (as I have just done…which is why I had backups).why was there a mac os disc installed in the computer when you tried ton install windows we where clear that you need to pull them all for a win install without problems.
you can get the win 7 iso from the Microsoft site
Indeed…one for murnau, which he hasn't answered yet...."I'll want that link- I have 8.1 and 10, but not 7."
