I was going to preorder the Later case which was on my Pixel Fold 90% of the time and recommended for slim profile peeps ..I decided on the Samsung official case in brown for now..one of the members on Android Central posted this pic and said it felt really good in hand ..

Yeah, I think that's the best decision... when looking at the photos you posted. The slim clear MagSafe case looks more compact and not as bulky looking with the Fold.

Perhaps I just need a different slim clear case as the one I have now isn't cutting it. The fit is good, the protection is good, but side edge on the front cover doesn't have a cutout so it blocks your thumb or finger from making good contact with the fingerprint sensor.

Correct, clear case lacks S Pen holder...but I question whether I need to carry an S Pen anymore. It is nice to have but I just don't use it often anymore.

Thanks so much for this info! I may try the official Fold6 S Pen case then and add my own ring magnet to the back. In comparison, the Fold5 version has 1/16-1/8" more room before the hump.

I don't know why I keep wanting to carry the S Pen when I don't use it much. I use the MagSafe ring multiple times a day so that's more important.

Sure thing. Here's two more that may help. The magnet looks a little crumpled as it wasn't working for my needs so was about to throw it out but uncrumpled and took these pics.

That looks great to me and will definitely work for my purposes! I don't like wireless charging due to the heat and slowness, so I just use the MagSafe car mount from my iPhone days but I unplug the power to the mount.

I like the black ring magnet but after making the cuts, as you did, I always have to file down the corners which exposes the silver beneath the black coating. I might have to do silver ring magnet again even though it won't match that well. Thanks again for sharing!

To each their own. Could I do without an S-Pen? Absolutely! But I try to incorporate into the Fold... using Pentastic, multitasking, selecting... copy and pasting text, using the button shortcuts. IMO, utilizing it helps to be more mindful of how useful it is.

Yeah, they could have done away with the colors and kept it all black.

I hear ya, I loved the button shortcuts and used the S Pen regularly with the Note series, but that was when the S Pen was easy accessible with the built-in slot. It was quick and easy to pop out the S Pen on the Note8/10 and quickly jot a sticky note. It felt very natural to do. But on the Fold the S Pen is on the back and it's just not as natural to pull out for use, and the larger inner screen negates the type of precision needed by the S Pen to copy/paste stuff.

I'm able to do a lot of my multitasking stuff on the Fold without the S Pen, except for actual writing. That said, I do feel the S Pen "completes" the package.

Oh, I agree... Samsung needs a silo for an S-Pen. However, it's kind of difficult situation when they want to make the device thinner along with adding more battery to it.

But on the larger screen topic, do you change your Minimum Width in developer settings?

It's similar to page zoom on a website or setting a resolution to a monitor... I believe it default set to 415 dp (I could be wrong), I changed mine to 430.

And it helps turning apps into tablet mode.... because I like having two-column layout in apps when in portrait mode.

Ah so I finally succumbed and ordered one ( trading in my S23U ) and the dang delivery date is Aug 14th ! wow!! Hopefully, it'll ship from nearby ( within DFW, TX ) and get here ( Grapevine, TX ) sooner than that !!

What do you think of the case?

On my Folds 1 to 4 I always had the Samsung flip case, but my Fold 5 and now 6 I have gone with this one which if fine providing you have a front screen protector as the AOD display is obviously visible and the spen is attached and makes the phone not wobble when laid down

I am just a bit more careful with it in my pocket over the flip case eg no keys and I make sure front screen is positioned facing inside not out to avoid damage hitting corner of a table as an example

I'm still trying to find the reason Samsung's newest foldable phones went up by $100 in price this year

- Upgraded to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3
- Same battery size
- 1 slightly new camera
- Some minor display bumps
- Heavy AI focus on things not even processed on the device

That Qualcomm chip carries a heavy cost behind the hardware it's per device licensing I believe.
R&D for the new glass specifically would've taken up a lot since competitors don't have access to that tech as of yet to absorb the cost.

Heavy AI upgrades processed ON device and integration into their rd part apps for live translation (can be in cloud or on device ; download languages as processing is faster and much more ideal for RTA)

Why does everyone think Samsung has no LLMs and is simply just using Googles LLM/Gemini???! It's false they DO have several of their own named after the Hodfather of AI.

I would like to have the leather one, but I want to have the Spen if or if (if I finally buy the Samsung).

I think you can buy it separately, but that would imply that I could lose it (something quite likely), so I would finally buy the one that comes with the hole for the Spen, although aesthetically it does not seem to me the most “aesthetic” option.

Added the insurance $13 plus tax monthly comes out to around $14.15 really really really want to run with no case lol I know I always go through this..
