The X just never felt like a proper match between hardware and UI so Looking back at my last few days of phone usage then I am so so happy that I returned my X because my workflow and efficiency is back to normal.

(The only thing I miss about X is the fast app-switching. But there’s no reason that can’t be added to iOS for every iPhone)

Nope, 100% 8+ fan here.

Ah, OK. But "the best" is subjective then.
Plus this year is not iPhone Flagship and being the best now is purely subjective.
I personally find it ridiculous sized phone with an ancient design. But that is just me though.

Apple said both the X and 8+ are flagships this year.

Where did Apple say that? I believe that a 'flagship' iPhone should not be identified by the price point, but what the iPhone offers in terms of what's considered the most current device and technology offered.

I returned my X for an 8+ but only because the X strained my eyes and resulted in a headache. I absolutely loved the X and would prefer it, but it's not worth dealing with pain. After switching to the 8+ headache was gone within 24 hours.

I hope to go back to a X one day if they change the screen. Sent feedback to Apple.

My eyes do not see OLED panels very well. I see things along the sides of screens that aren't there (green/ pink hues down the edges). It sucks but that's why I'm not a fan of the X.
The green/pink hues are there! Iphone x screens is a lottery, many of them have uniformity flaws, like patches of parasite hues you mentioned
