I like the dessert code names. At lease I have heard of Honeycombs or Cupcakes, but Andromeda Galaxy? Didn't know what it was until I got a Mac. iOS code names as Galaxies would be more confusing IMO.
I like this one... :D

The better the OS name, the more sales. Would you buy it if it was called OS X Donut? It would completely sound like a joke.

I didn't buy any cat themed OSX either, so your point is moot. Seriously, who buys a product based on it's name. Look at what it does. Their marketing is not based on the codename of their product (in either Android or Apples case) so I don't know why you bring that up. The marketing focuses on the products capabilities.
