Honestly, there isn't free lunch world. Free services are extremely tempting for everyone. Service providers provide freebie in exchange of data which propels their other businesses and to keep up the free services.

I'm certain, correct me if i'm wrong, by now google should know most of us better than our folks do. If you're not comfortable like me, simply opt for (paid) email servers.

Services only know about you if u want them to. it seems for a trade off, and particularly if your a public figure anyway, u don't mind that much vs someone who is not 'center stage' (u would detail less regardless of anything) thus preserving privacy as much as possible...

paid services don't matter, they still know who you are....
