Uh no it doesn't and I learned that the hard way. How? I used to listen to Slacker Radio on Edge to save battery and every time I stopped listening I would get all sorts of voice mails and what not because the phone would not ring while using data.

I tried it again using my sisters Blackberry 8700 (Edge only phone) and when I tried to call her while loading a webpage it went straight to voice mail too.

It;s you then, because for me and many others here that owned a 1st Gen that was the case. I never missed a call on EDGE when surfing.

It's me? Yep It was my old 3G, new 3GS and my sisters Blackberry 8700. Definitely me...

What else do you want me to say? That's all I can rationalize. Ok, let me rephrase a bit my original quote... maybe its your area's network?

I highly doubt its my areas "network" but just how the network is made.

False. If you are on AT&T EDGE the data will pause and the call will come in. Just ask anyone who used the first gen iPhone.

Nope. Not less than ten minutes ago while using the AroundMe app while on edge, someone tried calling me multiple times. It kept going straight to voicemail so they finally just left one to reach me.

100% Happy with AT&T no dropped calls better service for me then my wife has on Verizon using her Droid. I have Visual VoiceMail without paying extra, I can talk and use the Internet at the same time, Huge for me since I am on conference calls a lot so I can browse around the net at the same time.

Great Phone, my only wish would allow us to customize the phone a little more with icons, better battery, and be able to change the default sounds for Calendar and Txt without a JB, other then that I am happy with AT&T and Apple.

This place is turning into AT&T's customer support forum. We get it, you don't have good service boo hoo

Was the data active or were you just on a already loaded webpage? Whenever my 3G hits EDGE it goes straight to voicemail if the network is active.. such as listening to radio or loading a webpage. If the page is loaded and data is stationary then the call will come through.
