iPhone For those who really want Dark Mode and are currently disappointed

Yes, its exactly this. Even if you are in light mode, if you activate smart invert it will essentially turn into dark mode with smart invert on things that's not in dark mode. So now mail and safari works properly and thats why I think the news app and the white keyboard in safari when smart invert is enabled are just remaining bugs.
I'm also totally okay with this because with smart invert integrated directly into dark mode, there's no annoying graphical glitch anymore like the grey background when entering your code and things like that. It greatly improve smart invert feature itself.
When I said back to square one upon installation of DB7/PB6, what I meant was that Smart Invert does not work for me at all in Apple News whether invoked in Dark or Light modes.
Still the same with Apple News in DB8/PB7 unfortunately.
Why couldn’t they at least have kept it like DB6/PB5 where Smart Invert worked really well.
So disappointing.
Bêta 7 didn’t fix anything. At this point it’s not looking good.
I agree and I think when the general public see this there will be a good number that feel, like us, that this is not the system-wide Dark Mode Apple promoted.
Wow, unbelievable. iOS 13.1 beta 1 is out and they fixed NOTHING in smart invert colours. So its still f*** bugged. While keyboard in safari, news app don't invert...It's really, realy disappointing. I'll have no choice to stay on iOS 12 for a while now.
How can you say my expectations are, “wrong” when they merely differ from yours?
I think you’ll find many of the wider public upon general release will share the same expectations as me as to what system-wide dark mode means to them.
There are very good reasons why the software does not look or work the way you wish it did. And it is not simply because someone else that has a different opinion than you is the one in the driver's seat.
The problem is, they broke a well made feature (smart invert) along the way. Now, iOS 13 is worse for me than iOS 12 are. Their Dark mode is a mess and on top of that, they broke older features that works absolutely great in iOS 12.4.
Ironicaly, the 12,4 jailbreak almost do a better job with tweaks like noctis and Deluminator that makes all safari webpages dark and its pretty decent for what I tested.
