In iOS9 you could view your music by genre, and force all songs to be downloaded that way. Then you only had to tell it to download 8-10 times, instead of for each individual song.

But I can't quite seem to find that same functionality in iOS10? Anyone know how to do that?

I think the "Automatic Downloads" option in Settings iOS10 for new music you add going forward, it's not retroactive?

Thanks,
Chris

Thanks, I can see how that would work. But how can I add all music to a playlist without going through and choosing each song individually?
I'm not sure there's an easy way to do it on the phone, but you can create a Smart Playlist in iTunes on your computer where the only requirement is that Media Type is Music, and it should automatically show up on your phone, then you can download it.
