Hmm thought it starting working but now the problem is even weirder. Forecast works perfectly for me at work but at home or anywhere near my neighbourhood I get nothing.

Still in the same city and its on wifi and cellular. It's been 3 days in a row where it works as expected throughout the day and then nothing in the evening.

Maybe there is no weather around your home

i JUST posted about this. it looks great, but is not updating correctly here. the highs and lows are incorrect (altho the city name is correct).

i turned that function off, so JUST the weather shows...but it's also not updating correctly.

any thoughts? i really like it (but need it to be correct!)

As an alternative why not give MyLocation a try, works fine on iPhone 6, 8.1.

this works WITH something like LSWeather? and what settings do u use? thx!

EDIT: yeah, am confused. installed, re-enabled LSWeather. temp is correct (37degrees), but New York highs and lows are WAY OFF... (89degrees high today? more like 43degrees...)

Yea it didn't show correctly sometimes for me either. It seems like it gets stuck updating. The beta of Forecast is working great for me on the 6+.

forecast is nice; the animations are nice, but...i don't spend that much time staring at my lockscreen or homescreen, so disabled that.

anyway to remove the icons on the lockscreen? can i ssh into my phone, and remove the folder containing those icons? and...anyone know where that would be?

the animations are the images (clouds, etc); you can't have that AND your wallpaper...
This is what I don't understand about Forecast.

The dev had a chance with the iOS 7 jailbreak to let us have our cake and eat it too. But he didn't.

Yet, there are iWidet's out there that can use GPS/WOEID and put transparent weather right over your wallpaper. In fact, I modified an HTC iWidget just to have the animation only. So, I have both Forecast, my own wallpaper and animated weather on my lockscreen.

I can't understand why an iWidget can do this, but Forecast can't.

obviously, that's the designer's intent; to create a full-screen animated wallpaper... i think it looks great (i just don't WANT it). perhaps contact the developer...

I guess the dev's idea of that is different than mine then. I prefer a black/dark gray UI on my phone and his idea of animated weather not only removes my wallpaper, it messes with the color (I don't want to see blue sky and a strong sun in PHX in mid August, I want my dark background with a sun and it's rays). I do not care for the current implementation of Forecast as it moved the weather icon from dead center to the right and below AND changed it from a colored icon to a flat black or white graphic. Yes, I can move all of that to the bottom left, but I like how Forecast did it in iOS 6.

There are some things I like about the current implementation, but overall if the dev continues to move in this direction I won't be buying the next upgrade.

I have contacted the dev a few times in the past and never received any answers. It's almost as if he doesn't want to hear any criticism.

Ya weatherboard was going to be everything I wanted but it never showed up in cydia. Looks like its not going to happen.

There was a tweak for iOS 6 called LivePapers. It allowed you to put animation over your homescreen and lockscreen and was super light on battery use.

I had the Nexus version (there were three). The expectation was that at some point the dev would have a live weather animation that would update based on GPS.

With Forecast for iOS 6 on the lockscreen and the NC Weather Widget on the homescreen courtesy of Dashboard X that would have been phenomenal.

Never happened. I had to settle both times for modifying that iWidget I mentioned. And I only use it on the lockscreen and one homescreen because that iWidget IS heavy on battery use.

Oh well. Hopefully the next version of iOS (if it's jailbroken) gives up a better Forecast.
