The next gen exynos soc got leaked and it scored almost 2200 single and 7500 multi core in geekbench.it also is faster then the note 5 in power saving mode!

It's funny how people think Samsung phones lag.some have memory issues with reloading but even if the phone needs to reload its still faster then any phone out there.
The m1 is also a quad core not an 8 like the gs6 and note 5

My Samsung Note 4 does not lag........the Galaxy S6 i had did not lag........so that disproves your little falsehood.
Oh.....and don't say someone reported their S6 had lag. I am sure some have had trouble with their S6. But look in the iphone section here on MR and see how many people have issues with their iphones. So should we wrongly assume ALL people have those issues? Think not. Same for the Samsung phones.
My Note 4 lags as did my Note 3 and Note 2 before that. Then theres my Tab S.

Im not actually bothered too much about the lag. Ive just got used to it being the Android especially Samsung way. What I find annoying are you geeks and your benchmarks.

My advice to people like you........don't buy another samsung phone. Go buy an iphone......
What I find annoying is people like you who constantly complain about something yet repeat the process over and over again.
That's because they're getting their butts kicked by lower cost devices. It has nothing to do with this discussion.

Terrific...solving a problem nobody is complaining about. I haven't seen any complaints about processing speed for recent Samsung devices. Other than showing they can do it, why on Earth does a phone need so much processing power...especially the average consumer? And before someone accuses me of picking on Samsung, I'll say the same about benchmarks for Apple's upcoming A9---who gives a f...? The criticisms about these devices are unrelated to processing power. How about OEMs put this much effort into power usage and efficiency, RAM management, battery performance.

I think it's a combination of both. The Note 4 clearly took a bit of a beating from the 6+ and considering the newest iPhones are still sold significantly better last quarter than the previous year while the Galaxy series continues to languish a bit, it seems pretty clear Apple's larger phones had some impact (they weren't all bought by existing iPhone users
).At the same time, the prevalence of lower cost options like the Moto E and G, along with the increased sales of lower priced handsets from Chinese OEMs has hit Samsung from the other end.
I think you're missing the whole point. Benchmarks are a good starting point of how a device will perform. Especially compared to other similar devices. Benchmarks are early indicators only. They are touted are early indicators of future performance . Have you ever heard an OEM tout their device as "slower" than the previous generation.
I think note 5 not selling in Europe is down to 6 plus killing the note in sales. So I think iphone plays a big factor in this
I have a Note4 and Samsung watch and it get amazingly sluggish for a flagship phone. After a restart, 2.4gb out of 2.7gb of RAM is used (without starting an app). I could live with that, I like the hardware. The biggest issue for me is the updates. With Samsung, if you want to get new features, you need to buy a new phone. Software updates that came with the S6 won't be coming to the S5 or note4 (like color themes). When there is a bug fix, you also need to wait because the phone carrier hold up the patches forever. I love the audio, screen and battery but the software layer is a turn off. Next killer thing is that most of the time, apps requires all access to your private information and you can't override ****. They put a system for Android M but apps will need to be compiled to support that.
I can understand the butthurt. Exynos 7420 is ~50% faster (~1800k vs ~1200k nps) than A8 on real world apps like Chess games based on the same Stockfish engine. For people that use their phone more like a pocket computer it matters but not so much for others that use it like a blown up iPod.
Fanboys are always the ones who notice "the lag."
I'm a huge Samsung fanboy, but even I notice the lag. The 3 seconds it takes for the task manager to open, or the 5 seconds it takes for the camera to open, etc etc. I don't think anyone should take it personally, and possibly some have more of a tolerance than others for it. What may be lag to me, is simply an app opening regularly to another.
