That used to be the case, but nowadays I find few apps that aren't available or don't have an equivalent on android. The quality and selection of android apps has increased too.

Same, I've not had a problem finding apps on Android for years now.

I've got a bit of a unique perspective on this.

I've had Android since 2009 (Blackberry before that) since then I've gone through countless phones:

HTC Hero>EVO 4G>GS2>Nexus 4>Photon>EVO LTE>Atrix HD>Droid MAXX>GS3>Droid MAXX HD>DNA>Note 2>iPhone 4, iPhone 5.

I literally went from a Note 2 to an iPhone 4, HATED it for 2 weeks, then loved it. Bought a iPhone 5 and only have 2 complaints:

1.) Simultaneous Voice/LTE Data. I dunno what Apple's deal is. Every LTE Android phone can do this on every single network. The iPhone can't.

2.) Sandboxing. If I get notified of a new email by gmail and take a phone call shortly after, that message isn't downloaded to the phone because I didn't open the gmail app since the notification. On Android, a email notification means a new email is on your phone, on iPhone, a notification means 'time to open and refresh your app'. Because of the Voice/Data thing, I've had calls where I had to call back because I couldn't access a email I had a notification on.

With the HTC One & Droid MAXX now on Verizon, I really am tempted. I want simultaneous voice/LTE, but I've become spoiled.

I am so so picky when it comes to 'Fluidity & Smoothness,' and nothing can touch the iPhone.

I was just comparing to a freshly reset GS4 and it was pretty frustrating regarding apps, usability and quality:

Amazon Instant Video: iPhone yes, Android no.
Netflix Profiles: iPhone yes, Android no.
YouTube: iPhone loads videos faster (both connected to wifi)
XFINITY VOD: Clearer on iPhone, audio delay on Android.
Yahoo Weather: Way smoother scrolling on iPhone.
Web scrolling: Smoother on iPhone

Sensing a pattern here? I'm not sure if it's developers, code in the OS or what, but everything on iPhone is just smooth as glass (except that swipe to search )

I'm pretty entrenched in Google services and everything works great on iPhone. App quality is just better, smoothness is just better.

The screen size doesn't matter (except web browsing, or video playback), the use of space on the iPhone is way better, everything on Android is simply huge, its not better.

Also, TouchWiz is laughably ugly.

Honestly, my Jailbroken 6.1.2 iPhone 5 is faster and smoother than any Android I've used, it doesn't slow down and I have not had WTF moments with the device.

On Android, I was constantly on forums to figure out how to 'fix' my phone or make it 'smoother, faster, etc.) On iPhone, everything works great and that, ladies and gentlemen, is why my post count is so low on MacRumors and so high on Android Central, XDA-Developers and Androidforums.

Disclaimer: Stock iPhone notifications suck....big time. I wouldn't have went to iPhone if I couldn't have jailbroken and had IntelliscreenX. :p

I have used and iphone and android before. I posted this in another thread. I switched to an htc one. And i like the flexibility of this better than ios 7, which i had on my previous iphone 5. And pretty much everything i used as far as apps i can find on android. The only features missing to me are not all apps have push, i miss badge notifications for all apps. Not just the ones that came native to android. This is a big missing feature in my opinion of android. And i keep wanting to mute my phone with the side switch. But i am slowly getting used to using widgets again. I think i am like some ppl, and for now. I will keep android and my htc one for my phone. Since it does pretty much most of what i need it to do. And ipad, for that ios itch. And the one or two things i cant do on android. I never used facetime, and i have unlimited messaging. So imessages isnt that big of a deal to me. But i am def very comfortable with the new jelly bean. And will only switch back to ios on my phone at this point if they either come out with something breathtaking or a bigger screen. (Which i absolutely love!) Not really missing much off of ios though.
