Chicago is pretty good also. We lived in NW Indiana for 17 years until we moved 2 years ago. I remember when they started building the new Trump building. I also remember the real Soldier Field.

^ This is a very well done photo. The layers of tone and light give it a feel of mystery and depth.

^ Very interesting framing with the "fake" guard house mirrored by the real one. Does the little one have a purpose or is it just decoration?

My town is Needham, Massachusetts. Early Sunday morning on the Charles River:

^ I like. Lived in the Boston area for about five years and used to ride my motorcycle down the Charles and out to Lexington.

Nice photos from all. I have been trapped in persistent rains and heavy overcast. The only clear day had me out of My Town...

Done with an iPhone 3GS and Doubletake trial version to stitch it together. :p

This will have to do until I get my new camera.

Speaking of stitching panoramas, any suggestions for good software for it? When I go to Alaska, I want to take a dozen of them (with the real camera) every day.

That's pretty decent for the iphone. I use Photoshop CS4 right now for stitching shots together. Works great.

War memorial. A bridge too far.
waal0007.jpg

Is this Nijmegen? I used to live close to Roermend, but in Germany. I really miss tosti's. (random thought) Ham, cheese and tomato or ham, cheese and peaches. Who knew peaches would be so good on a sandwich. Sorry, reminiscing a bit.

BTW, interesting perspective on the pic getting the memorial and the bridge. It's a bit dark but there's still a bit of nice warm light on the rock.

Yes, Nijmegen, shot from the north side of the river Waal. I will see what I can do about the darkness. Thanks for your comment.

Peaches? What about pineapple? Or fries with mayonaise or peanut butter sauce?

Autopano Pro is what I use.

I think the mini guard house is just public art. It's installed on a cafe balcony.

My town (Lancaster, PA) has put pianos throughout the streets of the city.

Very nice. I like it. I like the bright green against the black and white. Is that a B&W pic on the actual piano or is it a mirror and you turned it monochrome?

Slightly brighter, as suggested by JDDavis. And added some background info.

The memorial was erected on September 18, 1984, 40 years after the Market Garden Operation. It commemorates the Waal‐crossing by the 82nd Airborne Division and the 307 Eng 376 Pfab, with the 505 Par Infantry Guards Armoured division. 47 American soldiers were killed during this operation. Thanks! The piano had the black and white photo on it. I'm going to make a point to visit each piano throughout the city and get some photos.

While the buildings in the second one are interesting it doesn't hold my eye like the b&w rail yard. I like the first one the best.
