OP, you stink!

C'mon gang, let's get him!

I found some time to play with my iPad this evening and went browsing in Atomic Browser and ran across an article about Continental Airlines. There was another article about New Jersey but I didn't think I'd be rewarded for reading that one. So instead, I just went poking around Craigslist where there were dozens of items available for under $600. :D

Another late night tinkering with the intermittently working central air so I got a little punchy. I do hope the OP (in the lost iPad thread) finds his iPad soon.

I agree, the moderators should have taken some sort of disciplinary action by now. My best wishes to the guy who lost his iPad.

Update?

So any update? Did the OP respond to the original posters PM?

I just flew from US to UK with my iPad and I was paranoid the whole flight that I would also forget mine on the plane.

I'm glad I have mobile me so I can locate or at least wipe my iPad. $100 a year is for sure worth it just for that feature especially seeing as the locate me feature also works on my iPhone so bothe devices covered.

Except that's not true, really. You've not covered, at all. IF I wanted your iPad and all its data, I'd steal it, turn off 3G and WiFi, have fun with all your e-mails etc, and then go into settings and reset it. And then enjoy your iPad till the end of time. I wouldn't count on Mobile Me to protect you from a smart thief. It might protect you from a really stupid one, though.

Should have mentioned I have a lock code with ten swipes and it's deleted. In my case I would have noticed quickly that it's gone and would have tried to locate it. If u turned it off I'd set it to remote wipe so when it's turned on it's wiped. I can buy a new iPad but your not getting my data. So mobile me is well worth it, and also I have registered my iPad to my name with the serial number so when u restore it Apple can find it buy it's activation. I know this is true bc it happened to my friends iPhone. He contacted apple bc he had registered so they knew it was his and waited for it to be restored.

If you follow the underwebs, you'd know that it is already pretty easy to defeat a jailbroken iPhone's passcode lock, opening up the contents to full review, assuming its not been remotely wiped. Its a bit more of a challenge to do this with a non-jailbroken iPhone, although there are some apps floating around out there that can do it with a little bit more risk.

No word on whether or not this method works on iPads but I'd bet good money that it will.

Short version...don't keep anything on your iPhone/iPad that you wouldn't want to become public information. And if you do lose your device, change ALL your passwords to email, apps, iTunes, etc immediately.

Overly paranoid. Agree with the final sentence though.
