Two reasons why they both suck:
- price
- limited bandwidth

Not sure if I agree with how that's said. Rather I'd say that for 4G LTE speeds, the amount of bandwidth being offered at the price doesn't make sense.

For example if you're on a dial-up connection, a package offering you 250MB of bandwidth at a given price may be more realistic and due to the slow speeds it'll likely take you a long time to use up your limit. You can only do so much on a slow connection.

On the other hand someone with a very fast connection speed is capable of doing more on the internet in less time. That would mean they'll likely surf more, stream more, send/receive data more so these folks could easily go over the 2GB limit.

It seems to me that right now, the pricing makes sense for EDGE/3G devices but hardly makes any sense for 4G LTE connections. I watch the news video streams online basically 4-6 days out of the week 3 times a day and I can go over any bandwidth limits in just a week or so easily.

Why the heck would I want to buy into a device/plan that allows me to connect faster and allow me to do less with it per month?

Since the Verizon version appears to have an unlocked GSM antenna, I'm not sure why you'd get the AT&T model unless you were in an LTE coverage zone.

Well the AT&T iPad does have dual-band LTE, so for those of us who go to Canada once in awhile, it's the better choice.

Has anyone successfully got the 4GB for $30 on the post paid plan?

Not going to happen. It only applies to new Smart Phones not the iPad. I tried, I have a business account with several phones and they just said nope only applies new smart phones.
