While I feel sympathy for the OP's problems, it's typical that people who have problems will post, while all of those who don't ....well they don't
I ordered my 27" iMac a few days after they went to 3 weeks shipping, i got it in 3 days, check my post. Mine is amazing, no flickering, no yellow tint(I did the test) and is super quiet.
Same with mine, it's perfect. Ordered mine on Xmas day and got it Jan. 8th. It's a week 53 27" iMac, no yellow, no noise and no flickering. You would need a stethoscope to here this thing run.

I sometimes wonder if people just look for something wrong with products. I've never had to return 4 of anything in my life and I can't imagine buying 4 iMacs with something so wrong with it that they all had to be returned.
Well i would email steve jobs if i knew what his email was, also to the person saying he never had to take back four of anything in his life. you buy a mac at £1.6k thats of sub par quality and has obvious details such as black cloth under the screen and the glass being offset. Both of those details are hard to miss.
That previous post was not aimed at you it was at the person you quoted in yours. Yeah i've returned so many products to the apple shop i know the returns procedure better than the staff. yeah the black cloth was about 5mm by 5mm and was under the glass in the middle of the screen on the first one i had. The second one had the glass panel offset by a few mm to the left. the others have had dead pixels and uneven backlighting. I will send an email to those accounts hopefully i will get a response.I never said you were lying about the problems you had with your machine, Stu. I said it shows a sincere dedication to Apple on your part that you went through 4 returns without kicking it in and taking a refund and going elsewhere with your hard-earned cash.
By the way, the glass panel for the iMac is held on by magnets. I don't see how it could stay attached with a black cloth under it.
You can try to e-mail Steve Jobs at either:
sjobs@apple.com or steve@apple.com

Its like the Seinfeld episode where George buys Elaine the sweater with the red dot on it. She loved it until she saw the red dot, then that is all she could focus on.
Your terminology is a bit off. You're calling your iMacs "Broken". There's nothing broken here. Having a piece of cloth under the glass that you could've easily removed isn't considered broken. Since you are a visitor here I'm sure you could've did simple search to tell you how to take the glass off and remove the cloth. But I get you, it shouldn't be like that anyway.
My point is, when creating thread titles please be specific, I clicked on it thinking that you got iMacs with broken glass or the metal casing was physcially damaged. I got this because you mentioned build quality being bad. You don't equate dead pixels and cloth behind the glass as "broken", but maybe more like minor defects.
Well, it's goes a bit further here on MR. Nobody would even notice the red dot until MR told them to.

How are you transporting it? Like this? If so, you're doing it wrong...
