wow.

i have a last generation imac(the last white one right before aluminum, with the magnetic side, oh eah), and i get like 200 fps on max settings.

24" imac, 1 gb ram, radeon x1700, and the new ones are supposed to be better.

there's something definetly wrong, if i'm getting 200 fps at max and your getting 20.

the imac your talking about featured a NVIDIA GeForce 7300GT, anyway on my imac with a X1600 radeon 128 i get around 70-100 at max and like 45-60 in places like SW, but for the Original person, don't forget apple has poor drivers for these graphics chips and had trouble from the start with them, i'd expect another update soon that will further increase your performance,

I wouldn't worry as for I have a 20" alu iMac with 1GB of ram...and in certain zones in outland I can get 200+ if I hide in a corner..but I get a steady 30-60 FPS anywhere in outland...so once I add my 4GB it will be a constant....you just gotta figure out your graphics settings to get the best performance and the best look!

I have tried upgrading RAM in a few different computers for friends and it always gave a nice performance boost in WoW.

I also installed a striped RAID of two SATA HDD for a friend. That gave a huge performance boost. Load times were very fast.

My wife and I both have the 24" 2.8 Alum iMACs and neither of us have any issues with WoW. It was posts like this, along with the early freeze posts that had me wait till we did (Mid Nov) FSG off and sampling at x1, think most things are all the way up save spell effects, which annoy me maxed.

We get consistant FPS of 30+ and when I am out and about I can stay around 60 easily and have seen it above 100 many times when I am in some dungeon with a couple people in the party.

We are both VERY happy with our choice, and glad we went with the 24". Soooooo nice to look at... even when it is sleeping ;) not to mention watching a movie/show.

Now I am looking at getting some of my old favorites on it (Warcraft, Diablo 2, and someother RTSs)

I LOVE MY IMAC!!!

i finally got he imac 24" as well, took some time since I was scared by all the freezing issues and performance I read.

Sofar its been great!

No problem yet, FPS is around 30 -60 most of the time, and peaks at 100+..

If you are not hardcore, just want to be able to play and raid, the imac works fine :)

its a whole new experience going from a 19" -> 24"
the game is so much prettier now :)
