I order 3..and i'll be getting in few days

so..

install w/o solution is the answer?

That's how I got the best result.

In the front it's easier because you have the glass and frame to align with. The problem is that installing it in the back is the most difficult part because you have to align with the camera and tiny mic hole. Besides that you have to make sure the sides are even. So I think it can be very tricky to install the back part without the solution.

The best tip I can give you is to not touch the sticky side at all if possible.

My experience compared to the Invisible Shield is that, you can manage to remove fingerprints and dust particles from it very easily, it's not the same with the Stealth Guard.

Ok so here's my review...

I ended up using the solution on the front because I could not get it on correctly. It's only been 5 hours since I applied the back part, and it's cleared up really nice and I'm happy with it. As for the front though... I'll give it another 12 hours, but so far, I'm not very happy. I feel it does take away from the retina display, and the touch calibration. I may consider taking the front off, but I will give it some more time to fully dry.

For anyone who is wondering what the "solution" is that you need to use to apply. Just simply put cold water into a spray bottle, with one or two drops of soap. (Ghetto, I know, but it works.)

For all the folks like me, who were wondering if the Stealth Guard is any good. I still think it's worth your $2. The back is very hard to get on, and instructions are hard to find. Costumer support is horrible too. This also is not going to totally protect your iPod. You will still want a case to go along with it. I'm still waiting to see if I'm pleased with the front screen guard I applied.

Sadly, there are more cons than pros:

Pros:
Feels good in my hand, nice grip.
Cheap in price
Design fits iPod.
Did I mention cheap?

Cons:
Bad costumer support
No instructions
No "solution" (you must make your own)
Collects fingerprints easily
Distorts screen
Comes in an envelope, which could easily be bent.

So.. if you want cheap protection that will work, but you don't care about looks, go for it. If you want a truly nice product, pay the extra for Zagg.

If anyone has an questions about installation, feel free to PM me. I will update you all on my front screen guard after it dries some more.

Maybe you're not happy with the screen because you used the solution but it's fine.

I only used the solution in the back and right now all the stuff that's looking bad in the back is clearing.

Invisible Shield recommends you to wait 24h until it settles 100%. Maybe because you used the solution you should do the same.

Don't forget to let us know how it looks 24h later.

Ok, so it's been 16 hours since I applied the back and the front. The back looks great. No complaints. Almost can't tell it's even there.

The front... It's defiantly looking better, but not 100%. I think it still needs to dry a little more, but also I'm noticing that the shield is wavy if you look at the glare in the light. This takes down the retina quality a bit.

I'll let you know in 24 hours.

OK.. so another update. It's now been over 24hrs. Everything has cleared up very nicely.

Some feelings:
Still not sure about the front... It does distort the retina slightly. :(
This is weird.. but IT SMELLS! I keep getting sick from the smell of it.. It smells like vomit.. It's really sick.

So I'm not sure yet, but may still take the front off. We'll see.

Thanks for keeping us updated, guys. I ordered this a few days ago and will see how it goes. I'll most likely only use it for the back, as I have a case but really want to make sure it doesn't get scratched. The glass should be a lot harder to scratch.

I received it yesterday, and put on today, and after 5~10 minutes

I got rid of it...

I'll just wait for cheap rubber case from china..

Well, here's yet another update...

I still have the front on, but probably going to take it off. I can't stand killing my retina display. I'm for sure keeping my backing on though. It's great.

I ordered a case from china, and await it's arrival.

Hi,
I ordered 1 a week back.I'll using only the back piece.I'll use it along with a waterfield pouch, just wish to confirm if this is a good combination. How's the back piece of stealth guards?how's the coverage, smoothness and adhesiveness?
Since,I'm already putting so much on waterfield pouch hence wanted a cheap substitute, also I heard its smoother than zagg and bse hence bent for it...Any suggestions?

Plz also post some high quality pictures of your chrome back wrapped up in stealth guards...Especially how r the cut outs for camera, mic and how's the coverage on the sides & borders...

I ordered my stealth guard on Friday or thursday of last week and it got here today...and it's not good. It came in the envelope. It's two pieces of plastic with poor cut outs. In the FAQ it says they send you two of each piece...wrong. They don't include instructions, nor are the on the front page of the website, but I found them after throwing the front one away. They are hazy. I put the front on and pulled it off and it was hard to get off. The screen was actually rising (scary) so I held the screen down much harder than I wanted to. I put the back on and theres quite a few air bubbles, blurriness but it does add some grip. So I guess you get what you pay for. I'll buy a case off eBay and a screen protector sometime in the future.

Just use a solution and maybe they'll be ok, I just never did that before on my screen protectors with no issue, ever.

@rohit6060

I will post some pics soon. Yes, I think what you want to get is good. I DO NOT recommend putting on the front--but the back is great.

@Abscissa
Bummer. Yeah, I'm planning to take the front off too. I'd better do it sooner than later. I'm happy with the back, but all your points I agree with. Overall, you get what you pay for.

The Stealth Guards came in a simple envelope, no padding etc. Since the 1st one was free, I ordered an extra set.

At first I applied the back, which was pretty easy to allign due to the Cam/Mike-holes. I sort of did it in the 2nd try. Didn't use a solution since Stealth Guards are sticky on one side, which was a major downside. Once it catches dust or dirt particles, those gonna stay there no matter what. So did my first skin catch a lot of dust. So I peeled it off and applied the 2nd one, which can be seen on the pics.

Another point were the cam- an mike-holes. While punched out, they still have to manually be removed. Which inevitably leads to loads of fingerprints and dust on the sticky side. The Mike-hole is so tiny so I just gave up on it.

Fingerprints are a minor problem, unless you didn't wash your hands. They seem disappear completely after a while.

The front side was a pain to apply. My first attempt led to a lot of bubbles and some dust includes, which i couldn't stand. So I went for the 2nd skin again. While it looked promising, in the end I missed the front-cam-hole by about 2 mm, by stretching the skin while applying, to avoid bubbles. I was really fed up after approx 1h and decided to go without a front protection.

The back feels smooth and grippy. It's a nice feeling, I like it a lot better than holding the pure chrome.

The pics show the back after ±18hrs

Got my shipment yesterday...

I installed the Stealth Guards on my new iPod Touch 4G without too much trouble. I agree with others here that the company's lack of detailed instructions make this harder than it needs to be. I did not know what the "solution" was that I was to spray the guards with so I just used plain water. When I pulled off the front decal it immediately stuck to my fingers leaving smudgy marks all over it. I took it to the sink and used a little liquid soap and water to wash it well. The front decal did have tiny bubbles and distortion over the image but I used the low setting on my hair dryer and it mostly cleared up in a few minutes. Today it looks perfect and I really don't see any distortion other than if I catch the glare off the surface it looks a little pebbled. Not a problem as I tend to avoid looking at my iPod with glare lighting. The back decal was also tricky - I took the time to carefully remove the holes for the camera and mic then used the same technique as the front to apply. There are two spots that are foggy but they are shrinking slowly and I expect they will disappear with more time. Don't really care if it looks perfect because I just want scratch protection for the back, not a mirror to check my hair. ;-)

For $3 I say they do a pretty decent job. Time will tell...

While the material quality of the skin itself is descent, the supplements are very sparse. Lacking solution/instructions, low end carrier material. All this combined mostly leads to an improper installation, unless you have done this a number of times already.

I finally got my stealth guard, but not really excited about the front of the iPod. But it doesn't smudge as well as when the iPod didn't have the screen, so it's a good substitute until the anti-fingerprint screen comes out.

ordered for my ipod touch and blackberry bold.
after three weeks of waiting (shipping to germany) i got one for the BB and one for an iPhone 4, which i did not order... ;)

I contacted stealthguards' support, but did not get any answer...
I think I'll ebay them...

addition to pro: price
addition to con: awful support (my point of view)

I can imagine that they are getting a lot of requests, but if they are not capable of handling this, they should'nt do it...

redeemed my zagg coupon yesterday... ;)

Nice. Any idea why theyre offering these free? And you have to make your own solution or you don't need solution at all?

:Edit: Due to the terrible reviews, I think I'm going to stick with a BSE.
