I wanted to pass along some information I read on a forum. They said their contacts at the local Apple store are expecting new MBP's on Friday (yes, THIS Friday the 18th). Not sure how reliable this rumor is, but I will get in touch with them again to find out more details. They said the upgrade would include the Santa Rosa chipset. Cross your fingers or genetalia.

Arghhh why cant apple just be honest with their release dates. worst case senario, I'll just order it this weekend and if it comes out next month i'll sell it and just buy it again lol.

although that was a rhetorical question, I'm going to answer it anyways...

If Apple (or any company, for that matter) said they will be updating X product on Y day, nobody will buy the one that is out, because they know what will be updated, and when it is coming out. It just isn't a good way to make a profit, or a way to clear inventory of the old models.

To The OP: I highly doubt this "rumor" is true. Apple store employees know just as much as we do, and they don't find anything out until we do.
