Am I a dimwit or what?

The screen should dim if you're looking at widgets. If you don't want your iMac's screen dimming after a period of inactivity, then open System Preferences and go to Energy Saver. There are controls for display dimming in Energy Saver.

Yeah . . . I do know that the screen dims when viewing widgets. As for my screen dimming after a period of inactivity? My settings are: (See pics of my settings) It still seems to dim, but its okay. If that is the only gremlin in my system I am thankful.

After all this posting my display seems to working correctly now! Oh well . . .

I tired everything I could to keep my computer from dimming. It's no big deal but a little annoying. Perhaps this has something to do with this widget problem? I'm not smart enough to reason why? Leave that to you smart guys. Chow!!!

The dimming feature is in your Energy Saver or Screen Saver prefs... I forgot which one, but it's there... I can't check it now, since I'm at work using a windoze machine...

From the looks of that picture, did they get rid of the "Processor Performance" energy saver option on the new iMac intels?

Yes it's gone on the Intel iMacs as that was one of the first things I went to change on mine.
I'm happy since I got mine back and everything now works as it should have when I first got it :)
