Fujitsu warns of incompatibility between Sierra and ScanSnap scanners

Fujitsu posted updated information on the incompatibility:

At the end it says:
"A fix for the above problems is expected to be made available in the middle of October, 2016."

What exactly is the incompatibility issue? Are PDF files that were scanned using the ScanSnap Manager somehow automatically deleted? I use ScanSnap to scan documents to the desktop when needed. Based on the link provided, I'm not sure if there is an incompatibility with doing that?

I have been scanning to pdf on a Scansnap running under Sierra w/o any issues (scan to pdf).

I sure hope Fujitsu pushes out an update quickly, now that Sierra is updating automatically.

I got the impression that it was Sierra which has the issue in which the way it handles PDFs rather than Fujitsu's fault.

There's on online update available today for some models:

For ScanSnap models: iX500, iX100, SV600, S1300i, S1100i
Online Update will provide users an update notification for ScanSnap Manager and CardMinderthat will resolve how PDF files are created, allowing them to be modified on macOS Sierra going forward without the reported problems. This category update will not resolve PDF files previously created by ScanSnap nor the problems with ScanSnap Organizer, therefore, return to this page for latest news and schedule of availability.
