How are full screen games behaving on an external display? If they scale to 16:9, might be worth upgrading my 2019 iPad Pro this year.

What happen on the iPad screen itself when you plug it on the monitor? Can you turn off the iPad screen completely and just work on the external display? Didn't had an answer for that.

Nope , if you turn off display, studio monitor will turn off too so it needs to be turned on

I tried pubg and one another game, but no support yet, if you launch it on studio monitor it has bad orientation on display.

Thanks, hopefully they sort it and don't leave it up to devs, since a lot of these games already support arbitrary resolutions

Yes there is lot of work to do with that support, the UI looks little bit more choppy comparing the macbook pro 14, now i will try to connect to wifes ipad with magic keyboard, how comfortable it will be.

IF you need test something on this configuration just ask.

So can you use the webcam on the Studio Display instead of the one on the iPad? (Although the camera quality on the iPad may be better than the one on the display, the latter is better positioned so that you can look into the camera without looking down.)
Would also really like to know this, especially on a studio display

When i run facetime app on studio display, there is black background, it doenst run the camera on studio display, but personally i think its matter of time

probably until September we will have 6-7 betas at least
The core feature is here, we just need to improved it with feedback and stability

Yeah, I’ve been using an HDMI monitor. My Kensington StudioDock has an HDMI port but I‘m guessing you could probably just use an HDMI to USB-C adapter.

It looks like someone earlier in the thread said you need a Bluetooth mouse connected for full screen display support? Is that what you're finding as well?

Yes, without the Bluetooth mouse connected, it defaults to the dreaded mirrored desktop with the big black bars on each side. Even with my Kensington StudioDock.

Does iPadPro get hot using Stage Manager with external 4K display? Is 4K 60Hz supported?

I hope you're right about it being a matter of time -- but it would be a significant move, since iPads have never hitherto been able to work with any sort of external camera.

When connection M1 to Dell external display I do not get app bar at the bottom. Just a blank screen with iPad background on the external display. Any idea how to get the app bar at the bottom of the external display?

Is the monitor support just for the M1 Pros, with the other models still having the black bars?

I plugged my M1 iPad Air with iPadOS 16 dev beta into my Studio Display, but I'm only getting screen mirroring. Unclear what I need to add, adjust, tweak or update. Any help is appreciated.

Doesn't Stage Manager need to be enabled for full screen?

Everything Ive seen online indicates it wants the iPad to connect via a wireless mouse and or keyboard for it to go into/present stage manager and proper external display extending of the home screen/desktop And not just mirror. It is also beta though so you and everyone using it please report bugs or concerns on the functionality via the feedback app to help make it as functional as possible come fall release.
