Sadly, I've seen computers screwed up almost that badly at work (I do IT support for a university). But it's not that it's spyware and trojans installing themselves.....people actually install crap like that and like it (until we lecture them on why those toolbars are bad and you should only use toolbars from trusted companies like Google or Yahoo)

My first PC ran Win98. When I got it I started putting various bits and pieces of software on to it. I didn't do anything but install the programs. Never the less - within a couple of hours the system was hosed and I had to format and reinstall:eek: Guess they should have put off shipping a bit longer :p

It is a joke and a very creative, clever and funny bit of viral marketing. It says on the inside cover that Tom O'Connor (The "author") is fictional.
I loved the "When a mommy and daddy love each other very much" bit :D

What I meant was, I thought it was not an actual book that you can purchase. I thought maybe someone printed all of it just as a joke. Turns out it's a real book, even if it is a joke, it's a real book out there. Creepy none the less.
