Do you guys see anything happening the coming 6-8 weeks to the Imac? Besides that, the printer rebate offer deal for the Imac is supposed to stop this month according to the terms. What will happen instead of that?

Re: Blu-ray, hardware?

Hi folks.

Actually, I am in the exact same boat as parent. Well, except that my iMac G5 died. So I am not a first-time buyer. Now appears to be a very good time to buy, so I am leaning towards it. I had hoped my G5 would hang in there for an iMac with a Blu-ray drive.

What do you folks think is the timeline for inclusion of a Blu-ray drive in the iMac line?

Do you see any hardware updates in the next revision that would really change things? I don't care about processor upgrades or larger hard drives or better graphics chips.

If they would think about even e-sata or a card reader or anything hardware-wise that would improve the feature set, then that may be worth waiting for.

What do you all think? Blu-ray is the big one for me.

I am looking at a customized iMac 24" with 2.8ghz, 4GB RAM, 512meg graphics, 1TB HD, Applecare. Anything else recommended?

Thanks for your advice!

Seems like half the people here are worried about buying because a refresh may be "right around the corner."
The other half won't buy right after a refresh because of a fear of "Revision A Syndrome."
