I believe this issue is with the cards them self not samsung

It seems to be a hit and miss with this issue. Some report having solved the issue with a custom ROM, others with a piece of tape to solidify the card but none have reported success by replacing with a new card.

I've sent back my SanDisk Ultra 64GB C10 for a replacement under their warranty plan. I should know soon enough if the new card does the job.

Anybody else downloaded the update? got mine sorted last night.

O2 have just released the update, installed this morning, haven't had much chance to play, I already have Apex launcher installed so don't suffer from lag (I dont think so anyway) seems very much the same.

The option to move some (not all) apps to the SD card is now available. :) TBH, I'm not in a great need to use the facility though.

I had a 32GB Sandisk that kept unmounting like crazy (and being new to the S4/Android, I was like "what kind of system is this?). Returned it for a Samsung and haven't had an issue since.

I may return THAT and get the 64GB version for $60. Imagine that - 64GB of storage for $60 while Apple wants an extra $200.

Haven't seen a 64GB version of the GS4 anywhere, never mind its pricing, so I'll reserve judgment.

The point. You missed it.
Yep, because a $60 microSDXC card performs faster than $50 worth of internal NAND.

Oh and $60 for that is lol, I got two of those 64gb's for $55 shipped each a year ago.

Hey mate, great news that some people are getting the update already.

Could you do me a favour, go into your settings -> About device, and let me know what it says under the 'Baseband version' section?

Why you want to know? Think I've been told as I bought it Sim card the device might not of been a UK made phone.. Dunno

My handset is rooted, so I'm not able to just press 'software update'.

This way I know which build I need to download and flash.

What are the advantages of rooting? Is it like jailbreaking?

Rooting is worth it for some people, not for others. Really depends what you want to do with your phone. For example, I like playing with tweaks and mods.

You can see below I've recently installed a mod that turns all my system apps (dialer, messages, gallery etc) to a white background, which I prefer over the black.

Sorry to bring back a few day old thread, but if you're rooted on an S4 with stock firmware, where do you download the updates from to flash them manually?

XDA. Literally anything and everything to do with rooting any Android device can be found on XDA.
