i looked at this site (http://www.androidpit.com/galaxy-s6-vs-iphone-6-camera-comparison) and it clearly shows the samsung camera looking way better. obviously you'd probably expect SOME bias from an android site but not that much right?

it almost convinced me as the camera is one of the more important factors in choosing a phone and i was very tempted to switch from my iphone.

then i look at this site and it features the same photo comparisons.

http://www.phonearena.com/news/Low-...dge-Galaxy-S5-iPhone-6-and-HTC-One-M8_id66826

only this time the shots don't look drastically different at all. on my macbook retina, both the s6 and iphone 6 photos look great. at first glance i have no real preference of one over the other.

just goes to show how hard it is to trust sites (whether it be android or apple sided)

Sadly not surprising. I just think people should rest assured whichever they have they will get a great smartphone camera in either.

The photos look similar on both sites to me.

I can't see how anyone would be surprised by the results, the Note 4 has a better camera than either iphone 6.

http://www.phonearena.com/news/Gala...ts-a-Canon-DSLR-and-the-iPhone-6-Plus_id66093

Look at that the link from the "less biased" site, it's a blind test and the note 4 beats the iphone 6 plus easily, according to the voters, who had no idea which camera was which.

If the results on androidpit.com were reversed, would you have a problem?

Is there another site giving results that are different?

Bear in mind, the scene they had set up for people to test was a small in box scene and different people were taking diffent shots of the same thing so phone arenas shots will be different to others shots.

Damn right!

After reviewing the photos on both sites and the Google page of the untouched originals. The S6 took the better photo.

I think in some cases the S6 beat out the IP6 and in others the IP6 beat out the S6.

Isn't the S6 out by several months, so of course the features will surpass the iPhone 6. I think also apple hasn't done much in terms of fully improving the camera in the IP6.

As was the iP6 when being compared to the GS5. Bottom line: Doesn't matter when the phones came out, only thing matters is if they are the current models available. If so, the comparison is valid.

If the point of contention is those low light shots on that phonearena link - you are all just arguing for nothing, because to be quite frank - the photos regardless of device all look like pants ...

Unless you specialise in taking murky pictures of motorbikes at night - wait till we see standard daylight shots, where in from my own experience of all the smartphones - there tends to be a much of a muchness regardless.

This is just another silly little thing that people fight about on forums that means sweet feck all to 99.95% of the end user who gets any of the devices.

It's asinine genital measuring .......

Some of what you're saying is true, but these tests demonstrate what the device is capable of in case you're in such a situation. Often, I want to take a picture of a romantic dinner with my partner and I cannot because the place is too dimly lit. Just one example I've experienced.

I love that these early photo tests show a very capable camera in the S6. Since switching from my iPhone 6, the one thing I still miss is a better camera.

Sorry, should have clarified, I wasn't referring to the pics in the above links. I was referring to the argument that people make that one phone is newer, so it should automatically be better. Never understood that argument as phones are not released on the same day. So you have no choice but to compare what's current from each OEM.

Regardless of that issue. I found that the S6 outperformed in some photos and the iPhone in others. My main point is both cameras did a good job.

True, but I've always felt flagship phones have had similar image quality for a few years now. As long as image quality remains tops, I want more megapixels now. I enjoy the flexibility of cropping shots without losing so much detail.

The 6+ camera is easily the best camera I have used in any phone I have owned. The pictures are amazing and the videos are downright beautiful.

To do what with?

Watch it on my non 4K TV or upload to the Facebook that is incapable of 4K viewing?

Yes it is beautiful but until the technology catches up with where people use it most its mundane at this point in time unless you enjoying just watching the videos on your phone.

Even then its difficult to see a clear jump in quality because the screens are still too small, and our eyesight is only so good. lol

And then play it on your non 4K television lol. Its all tit for tat as others have said, the cameras are good on all high end smartphones.

You can buy a 4k TV for the same price as a gs6.you people sound like broken records singing the wheels on the bus go round and round, round and round, round and round. Let me guess you also must of beat the dead horse that 1080p was over kill when Samsung used it 2 years before apple and now say quad HD is over kill because it will waste to much power.

But nothing but crickets and silence when the 2.5k gs6 screen benched out the 1080p gs5 screen and consumed 20% less power.

Its also totally fine for an apple user to come into a gs6 thread and gloat about how well his iPhone plus takes pictures and videos but it's not OK to tell him how much better the gs6 takes pictures and videos in 4k right?

Seriously wow

Isn't it funny how some want to downplay the GS6 accomplishments. But put those same specs/accomplishments on an iPhone and oh my they will boast how it is industry leading......

I'll throw YouTube to 4K (or 2K) even though I don't have a 4K monitor. The video is still noticeably better looking.

Calm down mate, I'm not a screen resolution nerd. I just picked up on a point and made a joke. I haven't got a 4k TV yet as there is no point until its mainstream. There's no need to always make these threads into fanboy contests, its not a competition at our level. :)

No surprise! The Note 4 went up against the iPhone 6 plus camera in various blind test and have come out on top more so than the iPhone. And with the S6 improving on the low light performance of the Note 4 module it has nothing to worry about.
Apple and no one in Android can touch the camera (or display) in the S6.
