Another argument I really can't stand or understand is when people say, "why would I record in 4K? I don't have a 4K TV."
Really? Are you really that near sighted? Do you know how much old footage I have that I would have loved to have had in HD now that HD is mainstream. I record in 4K and don't have a 4K TV yet. But when I get one in a couple of years, I've got the footage to watch in all its 4K glory. Smh at this ignorance.
Really good point.
Also, Apple happily future proofs their phone for gains we have yet to still really see. What has the 64-bit architecture done for iPhone owners? Apple Pay took months to take off and is actually still spreading/evolving. Yet they're often heralded as future thinkers and pushers.
Yet if competitors do it, it's either overkill or just for bragging rights or whatnot.
I've always said, if the battery can keep up, what's the harm in having better equipment? The phone will theoretically last people one to two years. What's wrong with future proofing it? Nothing. Samsung went all out, and that benefits the consumer. They went all out with the display technology, with battery charging (both wireless and quick charge together!), with storage speeds, with RAM, with build, with the camera. What is wrong with all this? Even if some of these things are unnecessarily high? Nothing! It's great for the consumer and spurs competition.
In fact, I really hope Apple comes out guns-a'blazin' with their 6S release too. It feels like Apple trickles their upgrades out, and personally, I'm a bit tired of waiting.
Likewise, this should force HTC, Motorola, Sony, LG, and others to go all out so they don't get left behind.
All this is good for us, the consumers. Why are people complaining?
