Having so much trouble getting Rainbow Six Siege to run on my D500's.

Anyone else tried it? Just DL the drivers from "remkoweijnen" will give them a go...

(On the other hand, nMP runs almost anything I do for work (mostly 2D) so much better then skylake rig)

really? Im keen on a 6700k rig.. I'm always chasing single core performance..

I got Bioshock 2 (somewhat older game) on the steam sale, my nMP rips through it on OS X at 1920x1200 and all settings maxed and v sync off haha. Feels like 100+ FPS but I should measure it for sure. For reference im on a 6core and D500's.

I know this may be a bit late but check this out: http://www.remkoweijnen.nl/blog/2015/09/21/update-amd-display-driver-under-bootcamp/?mobile=0

The drivers are modded and digitally signed so you don't have to go in test mode to load them. Just download 15.12, unpack and overwrite the files with the ones from the blog.

EDIT: do yourself a favor and cleanup first. Use amd driver cleanup utility to wipe clean the previous software, don't reboot, use DDU to cleanup whatever is left, reboot and then install the modded driver. Without doing as above and simply upgrading i got flicker in most games i was playing.

Would you mind giving me a step-by-step of the procedure? I am having trouble following the instructions in the blog. I'm using D700s.

Here's what i did:

1. Uninstalled all AMD drivers from control panel
2. Ran DDU (skipped safe mode)
3. Restarted
4. Ran the 15.12 Crimson setup (which unpacked all the files under c:\amd) which failed (obviously)
5. Overwrote the files under c:\amd\ with the files in the archive
6. Ran the setup again, did a custom installation without Raptr (seriously it's useless).
7. Manually went to device manager and installed the driver for the secondary card (update driver - choose manually, select your only option from the list).

I am gonna be honest with you, there are bugs. The most annoying is that if you forget the control panel open (the new Crimson one) and you run a game you may get weird texture flicker/corruption which is fixed on restart. Also per game profiles don't seem to work.

Hi Samflorin,

Thanks very much for your help. On step five do you mean the files downloaded from the blogpost posted previously in this thread?

Thanks again.

So how is it working for you? What cards do you have? Any issues?

Everything is working fine - i.e., Crossfire. I noticed a 4 fps improvement in the Tomb Raider benchmark at max settings at 2560x1600. I have the D700s. Now the average for that game is 100.6 fps.

The only issue I have is under the device manager it lists one card as AMD Radeon R200 / HD 7900 Series and the other card as AMD Radeon R9 200 Series.

I can't seem to find a way to update the second card to match the first one. I'm not sure if it matters...

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks again.

EDIT: I just looked at the driver details for both cards and they match, and their file locations are the same place.

Yeah it's purely cosmetical. Don't try to change the driver you won't succeed. If you are happy with the outcome you may want to donate to the guy though :)

Btw all AC games tend to crash with overlays (riva tuner, afterburner, etc) so don't blame your drivers :)

Solution (for afterburner) is to assign a hotkey to toggle display, disable overlay when launching the game and enable it once the game is fully loaded.

I donated 10 Euros to him. It's not much, but I hope it helps him continue his good work.

I see that even newer drivers are available now. I'll try installing them the same way. Hopefully it all goes without a hit again.

I've been running the hotfix since it appeared (first i edited myself the ini files, really easy, and booted windows 10 without driver signature enforcement) and i don't have any problem whatsoever.
The only difference i noticed is that in Fallout 4 with previous driver Crossfire was enabled, however with the new one Crossfire is disabled (only for this title, AC,WoW and others still work on both cards). There is no difference in performance in FO4 though (i still get 30-40 fps on 1 card).

So I am having trouble again. I'm attempting to install the 16.1 drivers just like the 15.2 and it's not working. I uninstalled 15.2, then ran DDU, then downloaded the new 16.1 drivers. Attempted to install, which failed. Then I overwrote the files with the ones from the blog and then attempted to run the set up again. It keeps telling me there is no supported hardware.

Any suggestions? :(

EDIT: Nevermind, I got it! :D

There is a pretty good write up on how to replace cards.
In the course of my dilemma I installed/reinstalled cards probably 20+ times :))) already. I can do one card in under 2 minutes probably :)
I am thinking about extra fan below and on top of the stock fan too, but with the temps I got already light OC is possible.
But really, they do run well as-is;

I'll make comparison table D500/D700 once I gather data. I only have SC2 & World of Warcraft as far as blizzard goes :-(

Thanks for all your hard work, agazoo! Do you have any tips where to get those D700 cards? I'd love to upgrade my can to the faster FirePros :)

They show up on eBay for $1k each (and you must upgrade both) occasionally. Not even worth it. I'd look into an external GPU solution with a Titan or 980Ti.

Thanks. I've figured out the Apple Part No. and had a look around. You're right. 1150 USD each. Wow. Are those external solutions really viable now? Do you have a case in mind that one could use?

I'm not sure if you are aware of this guy:
www.mxdriver.com it works for me on my nMp 6 core. I only play GTA V and it works great with my D500s. I just created an account here to share this site but I have no affiliation with it.

I actually stumbled here looking for a post I read!about a guy who overclocked his d500s with msi afterburner and had good results...
