One of the cool things about Apple refurbs is that sometimes you can find BTOs, and they're available with that same fast shipping. Currently the new standard configs for the 27" iMacs are 4-5 weeks (in the US), so BTOs would be expected to be longer. What's considered normal depends on where the product is in its cycle during the year.

Good to know...I wasn't sure what Covid would do for shipping times. Probably wouldn't get mine until September by the time I buy it....and at that point I won't how long until the reveal of newer imacs.

What will they have that could even be upgraded? SSD Standard = no more fusion drive & new i9 -10 core?

Wondering how much more that would even help me in Logic compared to the 2019.

I doubt they will get rid of the fusion and somehow lower the base price, and the new CPU would offset that price.....

* I do check the refurbished but never see a build I want and if I see something close it's at a point where I might as well spend $400-500 more and get it brand new.

There's new processors for sure, but I also wonder what GPU's they will use? Wifi 6 would be a great addition.

OP, maybe cancel order and wait for 2020 iMac (or get iMac later by trading in). I still cannot guess at input lag or response time on 2020 iMac. It might be bad. But I don't know.

Still check this thread out: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/will-arm-macs-have-arm-gpus.2243362/ Based on rumors I'm guessing 2020 intel iMac might come out/announced in September. I could be fully wrong about the prediction.

But I understand that it is your choice on what you want to do.

I've been watching and refreshing (and rinse and repeat) the refurb page since yesterday afternoon. So far I've only seen a $1200 27inch iMac with 8 plus 1TB Fusion show up. They had a bunch this weekend but I hadn't decided if I was going to get one and now I'm going a little crazy waiting for a few more to be posted. Though I did see a bunch of Mac mini's get posted so hopefully it's just a matter of time before more iMacs get posted. I've got limited desk space so an iMac would help me save a bit of space between a monitor plus laptop plus a bunch of cables.

Are you sure you viewed page 2 that contains all 27" iMacs with quite a few that have SSDs?

I need a 27" 2019 imac + 8-16GB Ram(will add my own) + 1TB SSD + 8 core i9 ......the most powerful CPU i9.

They don't have that available....The most expensive ones on there right now have fusion drives which I refuse to use for making music.

I refuse to use a 2017 imac as it has heating issues the 2019 doesn't.

I 100% need a 1TB.....512 SSD won't be enough.

Anything that is a 2019 that offers SSD is 6-core...and I don't want that.

So for me personally....I would rather just spend the extra money and get a brand new imac.

What is another $500 if I'm already spending $3,000+ anyways.

If new iMac shipping times are a concern, consider a like-new Apple refurb iMac currently shipping with 2-day air in the US. For example, if you ordered one tonight, the delivery date is Tuesday 6/30. If you don't see the config you'd like, keep checking back because the stock changes frequently.

The only way to go.
