Got the pop up again today. I’ve never gotten it every time I loaded a page but multiple times over a few days. Haven’t cleared iPhone history or cache etc.

WOW! New pop-up, more annoying. GG, MacRumors! Did someone from sales/marketing put the devs to do this, until everyone accepts your non-GDPR compliant questionaire?! :/

There were a few configuration changes made to try and resolve this recently now. Is anyone still experiencing this issue?

Yes I am. Using iOS/safari.

Can you try to clear your cookies under Settings > Safari > Advanced > Website Data > (search for macrumors) > Edit > Delete? Your browser might be in an unexpected state from an earlier cookie that was set. If that doesn't work, are you using any content blockers or anything else that might affect cookies?

So it's only popped up a couple of times this evening.
Not doing it now. Not using any content blockers.

Still happening here every time I start a new session on the site: subsequent page loads are free of it though. I am using Ghostery for content blocking, so maybe that's it? Regardless, it's annoying (and not happening on other sites with the same browser and content blocker).

So annoying - think I'll take a break from the site for a few days!

Same for me, I've cleared everything but it still happens. It's good for my productivity because it makes MR unusable on my work machines. :D
What browser and device are you having this issue on? I'll try and look into if there's something specific about your setup. Do you have anything that could interfere with cookies (ghostery, content blockers, etc)?

Depending on exactly what you mean by starting a new session, this might make sense. Some of the cookies saving this are first party cookies that will persist (unless you're in private browsing mode / incognito mode) but some of the cookies are being stored as third party cookies that Ghostery could be interfering with.

You mentioned IE and Safari earlier. Both on a desktop? Any content blockers or anything else that might interfere with cookies? Hoping that with some more info I'll be able to track this down

It sounds like potentially it's a ghostery issue as others have mentioned it before and after me. I use ghostery on iMac and MBP safari and they have the popup problem, although I have MR whitelisted. I'm writing this on mobile right now and it doesn't have ghostery and i see no popups.

Yes both on Desktop.
However, just come home and back onto Safari and no longer popping up. So Safari seems all good now.
Just happening on IE for me (latest version running on Win 7). Cleared caches, deleted temp int files and browsing history, deleted cookies, also tried the 'IE reset to defaults' option.....

The GDPR pop up is not very compliant, the default option should be to opt-out. You’ve made it so that the default option is to trick the user to opt-in to everything. That is not informed consent, i suggest you have your legal check it. There is also no direct email that i can find to your data controller.

Plus it's still happening here (on every new main site page load, interestingly not in the forums as far as I can tell). Literally no other website I visit is having this issue (even though I am using Ghostery on macOS / Crystal on iOS on them as well), why can't you get this sorted out? And no, I'm not going to whitelist you to avoid it happening (well, not unless you get rid of the 9 trackers that you're trying to tag me with that Ghostery is blocking - I wouldn't mind seeing the ads so much, but that amount of tracking is ridiculous).

Anyone else getting this every time on every device?

I understand that Macrumors has to comply with the new GDPR regulations but it's not necessary every time I visit the website.

Is it happening on every page load on forums or front page? Sorry. that's not supposed to be happening, but we obviously have have issues with it.

Right now, it shouldn't be popping up on forums at all.

Also... what browser?

I'm seeing the cookies message repeatedly on my iMac and iPhone again, even though I've dismissed it, when loading MacRumors.com.

Has the issue returned for anyone else?
