This would be a great deal for it not the abysmal reviews the Fit is getting from the majority of websites.

I think this is a real shame Samsung couldn't get the Fit to perform quite right. They were able to get this out the door before Apple (with a beautiful design, too), but couldn't nail it functionality-wise. Could've been a great opportunity for them.

Unless I'm mistaken? Has updates or anything improved the Fit? I've read how it's terrible at getting accurate reads during workouts...

I've not noticed any issues at all with mine - the heart rate sensor is very accurate and it ties in really well with S Health on my S5

Wrist worn pedometers do tend to over-read to an extent but it's not that bad and certainly no worse than any other wrist based device (such as a fuel band), and the main thing for me is to use it as a comparative tool so the baseline accuracy isn't as important anyway (if that makes sense)

Same here. Why is it made device specific thus reducing sales.

Really good question there. I've heard from some sources that it relies on certain things that are only in TouchWiz? I don't know.

Returned it. I kept the G3 so the Fit was a goner since my S5 is going for sale.

Nice "toy" though, I enjoyed it for the time I had it.

Yeah I'm enjoying mine. Works great (as long as you have the S5 or such) .... Without it, you only get basic support for stuff.

They're goal is to sell more galaxies. Like Apple, they want you to get deeply invested in their ecosystem. Unlike Apple, they don't have their own os (tizen doesn't qualify). So, with many android phones and tablets, it's more difficult.

For 2 months, I have been using the original Galaxy Gear (got a great deal). It has a lot of useful features such as being able to receive and make calls (while driving, this is handy), receiving emails and texts (at work, I leave my phone at my desk and don't carry my phone to other areas - the bt range could be better, but it's useful, as is), the pedometer is nice, and even the camera can come in handy.

In the future, we'll see how well consumers take to these. Until they can do more, most people I've talk to won't purchase unless they are under a $100.
