I just got this one yesterday, and have been addicted. It's not as manic as other TD games so far, but it's REALLY HARD. I love the Geometry Wars theme, and it looks quite gorgeous in a retro way.

But boy.... is it ever hard!

Lots of fun, and very challenging! I've had this game for a while, and I'm quite stuck on the 2nd level of the medium pack. My only complaint is that very occassionally there's so much debris flying around that it's hard to see what's happening. Definitely one of my favorite games, and a steal at ¥115.

I like it also and am glad they have a free version, however the full version is not worth $3.99. I have had it crash my iPhone once already because the iPhone can't handle all that is going on and routinely slows down.

All I would pay is $.99 for the full version.

Full version is easily worth $3.99, and it's never once crashed my iPhone. :)

Medium 2 is killing me, though!

Phenomenal tower defense game, and unforgiving in difficulty. I'm obsessed with getting a perfect on every stage, and Medium 2 is giving me fits. Love it, though.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one stuck on that level! I've been playing both Medium 2 and 3 for weeks, and not getting past them. I could go on to level 4, but I don't want to leave too many unsolved before going on -- if not just for my pride.

In terms of stability, so far it's been pretty good, but there are times when a) so much is going on that the framerate drops, and the game becomes sluggish (which makes it a lot harder to place new towers in the middle of a complex wave), or b) when the bouncy board distortion explosion effect messes up the game, and nothing responds to your touch for a few seconds. Has anyone else had this problem?

But yes, overall, a great game both mentally and aesthestically. I'm looking forward to an update to get rid of some of the bugs, and hopefully add support for saving a game when you get a phone call/quit to do something else. Fieldrunners has such a great state saving mechanism (even if it crashes, it resumes exactly where it left off); it would be nice to see something similar implemented in geoDefense.

Take care,
Sojourn

P.S. With regards to price, I got this game when it was on sale for 99 cents, but it's definitely worth buying.

'In this economy' arguments don't really fly in relation to pricing of a luxury item (game) that can only be played on another luxury item (smart phone or widescreen video ipod). People who are sensitive to 'in this economy' shouldn't own an iPhone or an iPod touch.

Well the free version crashed my iPhone! And it is NOT worth $3.99, in this economy.

LUlululullulul:)

How much does a Movie ticket cost? About 6 Dollars at least? For 2 hours of a movie, that when you leave you don't get to bring home.

GeoDefense=4 Dollars, Hours of entertainment, And you can use it again at your own pleasure!

So apparently if you mean "This Economy" As America you are wrong.

However if you mean "this economy" as You, then yes, TOTALLY NOT WORTH IT DOOD.

That being, if your a "Cheap ________ "

Yep, the lack of saving state is a nuisance, and I've had the odd distorted board affect, too. Nothing that detracts from its awesomeness, but I've been stuck on medium 2 for a month now. Gah!

Speaking of geoDefense - they released an update yesterday but my iTunes is refusing to sync to iphone with error message saying about app could not be verified...

I've had about 5 updates SINCE this one and they've all worked, i deleted the app, re-downloaded, restarted comp, reauthd comp, rebooted iphone ... geodefense is the ONLY app that won't sync

Anyone had this or know how to fix?

Same issue here. Geodefense is officially broken by this update! Wait for a new version I guess!

Considering this app originally was selling for $.99 and they raised the price to $3.99 once it became popular. So to all you that keep saying it is worth the inflated price of $3.99, go ahead and keep saying this and they will raise the price again.

There's a limit to how much people will pay. The 99 cent sale was probably meant to both get a little income going for the developer and get the app to the top of the charts (with over 10 000 apps in the appstore, it's pretty easy for an app to get lost in there, and few people would now about it). I doubt there are any plans to raise the price beyond $3.99. He probably also raised that cause sales declined after the initial spike, and he's got to make enough income from the slower trickle of sales these days.

The geoDefense update didn't want to download yesterday, but it downloaded without issue today.

That so doesn't make sense. Raising prices due to slow sales will only make sales even slower. Especially in this economy. It is like when the Government and States raise taxes during this tough economy, we aren't going to be spending money if we are taxed more. Many people are taking pay cuts, if they still have a job. So consumers have less money to spend.

That's how a lot of developers do it. The developer of Pocket God will double the cost of his app to make up for declining sales (since developers aren't allowed to charge for updates). I wouldn't hesitate to buy an app for $3.99 if it was my kind of app and the reviews were mostly good. iPhone apps really are cheap in comparison to most other software.

This is not a fair comparison though if you are talking about computer software. That software is for use on a bigger screen and with a more comfortable layout. A game on the iPhone that gets bogged down due to the iPhone's hardware limitations is not worth $3.99 in my opinion. And a company that takes advantage of consumers declining income due to the poor economy, by raising their prices, doesn't look good in my book.

The point is that developers spend a lot of time and energy creating software, and they need to see returns for that. A lot of people will buy an app when it first comes out (especially if it's on sale), but after that, the developer doesn't see a dime from any of those people even for any updates he makes. Where does he get his money from if most people who would buy his app have already bought it? There will always be a few people who will buy an app that has good reviews, but he still won't get near as many sales as when his app first came out. He's not trying to take advantage of consumers in this declining economy, he's just trying to make enough money to put food on the table.

The point is they raised the price of the app once it became popular, that is most certainly taking advantage of consumers. Do you think they would have raised the price all the way to $3.99 if it didn't go over well? Of course not!

That's usual, and they aren't trying to take advantage of the consumer. The initial low price is an attempt to get a lot of people to buy the app, if a lot of people buy the app, then the app will be within the top charts, and also within the top paid apps for it's section. If an app doesn't get into the top paid app section within it's category, chances are a lot of people will never see the app, and thus never buy it. Once an app is in the top paid apps, then charging a price that is more equal to the amount of time and effort put into creating the app is more likely to bring in enough money for the developer (a lot of developers don't see much return for their time and effort, and just a very few get great returns, such as Trism and Koi Pond).

A lot of app developers have put in lots of time and effort, but their app has gotten lost in the 10 000 plus apps in the store.

Seriously, try to see this from an app developers point of view. You also need to know how the system works for apps in the appstore.
