GeoPort vs AAUI

Does anyone know why did classic Macs have both the GeoPort and the AAUI port? What were the differences?

Also does anyone know what the speed of those ports were?

AAUI could do Ethernet up to 10 Mb/s using 10BaseT or 10Base2

Geoport is a serial port connector that can be externally clocked up to 2 Mb/s.
