is it just me of has engadget been more pc fanboyish or anti apple recently? with all the hype from there and the users over the new droid phone or apple releasing a computer with out a blu ray player they got to put that "bag of hurt" quote it just seems really annoying if you make a good point about apple recently your called a fanboy over there, anyway Im wondering to besides Gizmado any one know other really good tech sites?

Engadget is great as long as you don't read the comments. It's become borderline insane and is just oozing with Apple hate. I recently read the comments for an article about Blackholes and within ten comments, someone, somehow, managed to start bashing Apple. It's seriously crazy over there, a totally nonconstructive and meaningless comment section for every article.

Woah woah. Engadget is mega pro-apple. On Tuesday the entire homepage was praising Apple's releases.
Windows 7 is admittedly much bigger news than these Apple releases. Remember Windows is still 90% of the market or so. It would be silly for a site as big as engadget to ignore this news.
But as liquidsuns says - comments usually are Apple haters.

Eh... I think over the last couple years more people are tired of the myth that Apple doesn't make mistakes and that all other companies make them all the time. It's become a bit old.
A year ago the comments on Engadget were almost universally pro Apple. Now they're a bit more balanced. You still get ultra fanboys for any product, it's just people take things with a pinch of salt now.

I like Engadget. It's good that they are not always fooled by the hype and sometimes take the piss out of Apple.

You're right, dawn of the sad right there. Shocking, but not significant, so long as they don't pray to Jobs. Or eat your brain.
I liked AI because they wrote what 'seemed' like lengthy reviews/reports on new gear/events.
Until I read their review of the unreleased Zune HD, which they've never used, and almost completely based on heresay.
The main thing to remember about all of these websites (MacRumors included) is that they are operated for money. The way to make money with a website is to prove to potential advertisers that you have good traffic levels and users who come back and visit time after time.
There is a worrying trend recently in sites posting 'troll' articles which have no purpose other than to spark a flame war and get people coming back to comment over and over again. By posting something 'edgy' or 'controversial' on their sites, editors can be guaranteed that the traffic levels to that particular article will be good.

I like to get my technology news from places which you know are going to be less biased. BBC News is a favourite, as is The Guardian.

Very true. Some sites - like CNet and ZDNet - just aren't worth bothering with these days. Not only do the bloggers spam flame fodder but the mod teams allow the same persistent trolls to fuel the fire. It's just a mess.
Those cnet benchmarks annoyed me. They were posted all over the place, and they were run a single time on a single machine. What was worse then the fact that cnet released them was that everyone else picked up on them, without saying they were not only unofficial, but the two OS's weren't even using the same software versions!
For benchmarks in new hardware and software (OSs mostly) I go directly to AnandTech.
Reviews on new stuff I read over at Gizmodo (I ignore the comments from the writers if I sense they are a bit biased) and come here to Macrumors to see what others are saying (actual users). But, I also read the reviews (from time to time) of David Pogue or Walt Mossberg.

a balanced approach. i appreciate people who try to get a good sense of everything. I tend to think pogue and mossberg reviews are not in depth enough though.
again proving my point today they showed off the new Thinkpads my coments the top one saying they Still look Dull after all these years wich imo they do im already Lowrank.

Gizmodo and Engadget are practically the same since they are started by the same people.
Looks like you were downranked for trolling. Lenovo's are meant to look the same - that's part of their branding. It's nothing to do with anti Apple since the topic has nothing to do with them.
You need to grow a thicker skin.
yeah cnet is partily owned by MS so they will give the pc favoritism there or anything MS related. Anyway now there coming more and more clear with their anti AT&T rambles or articles. Granted ATT is spoty with 3G and all but then each Cellphone company has there faults Hey Verizon could have had the iPhone but they blew it cause there to Controlling over there phones but the Clear ATT bashing on engadet is geting tired infact i have removed engadget from my bookmarks and twitter feed.
