i just made the jump from pc to mac after waiting MONTHS for this baby. i have had none of the bug issues people are whining about and haven't looked back. i love this machine!!!

I got my MacBook today...

what can I say? it's a beatiful machine. I love the design, the ergonomics and proporions. I love OS X. surprisingly, getting used to all new keyboard shortcuts was the hardest part because I was more or less familiar with Unix system from before. everything is simply beautiful in OS X and to be completely honest, I was a bit reluctant to to back to a windows machine to do some work :)

there are plenty of apps installed already and even after using my new MacBook for over 5 hours I only had to install Skype and Adium on it (it's a shame iChat doesn't support ICQ and MSN). the irony: the fist time I started up Microsoft Office 2004 demo, it chrashed "unexpectedly" :D

the keyboard so far has worked perfectly. the screen seems all right to me and I didn't even calibrate it. there is no audible buzz, all I can hear is the hard drive if I get very close to the back of the notebook. and as far as I can see, there are no dead pixels. so far so good.

my only complaint would be Apple's lousy shipping times, it would make me much happier if I received that notebook a few days before :D

I wonder what Microsoft is paying per new astroturf post on MacRumors these days?

There's two or three threads like this every day lately.

Yes for someone to come on this forum and have an issue with mac definitely means that something underhanded going on:rolleyes:. As I have stated before I have been a long time mac user and intend to continue to be so long into the future. My macbook which I have had for around 8 months now though has aged so poorly and has so many issue's that I am considering buying something to replace it... maybe ven a pc (gasp). Windows wouldn't be my first choice but mac is leaving me little choice here as I don't want to buy a macbook pro. I guess I could go out and buy a used ibook, like my former one which was excellent.

see how you feel 4 months down the road

as I'm waiting for my new SR MacBook to arrive, I have nothing better to do than read those forums. and looks like the new MacBook is a one big bugfest.

problems I've seen so far: electric buzz, keyboard unresponsiveness, poor screen contrast. not to mention possible dead pixels and other, yet unheard of problems. did I miss anything?

all this really makes me wonder whether I should have just bought a Dell M1330...

Dell?

My white SR macbook I ordered direct from China on Nov. 1 has had zero issues. Zero. Ohhhh, wait a minute, there was one time I was doing a time machine backup (wireless to my G4 1.8 Giga also on 10.5.1) and I wanted to shut down so I told the time machine to quit the backup but it was taking too long to disconnect so I went to remote desktop, put the G4 to sleep, and then told the macbook shut it down after it said the time machine drive was disconnected and it sat there and spun on the empty cosmos screen until finally I held the power button down ...

If that's the biggest problem, I'm not concerned at all ...

can't wait

just ordered blk sr MB, 2 gigs ram. Will be in Mon or Tue. Have 24" I-Mac, 2 gigs ram, best vidio card and will airport all. Used my i phone credit and Black Friday sale! Got a good deal on Apple Care too!
