I think what they'll be seeing and probably already have is the traffic is decreasing. If people continue to avoid them because of their aweful design, then they'll have to readjust their thinking.

I've not been back since they changed their site, as I can get the same and more news from engadget in a format thats easier to view and read.

Gizmodo

Not a fan. However I generally do most of my surfing with the amazing Pulse app on my iPhone. In order of preference for my tech fix: MacRumors>9to5 Mac>TUAW>Appleinsider>Engadget>Ars Technica>Gizmodo

Engadget is the simplest and has the best stories, Ars Technica has the best content, community, and reviews. Gizmodo can go burn in a hole.

All the Gawker blogs have undergone this similar kind of redesign, and from what I've read most of their readers seem to like it. Obviously not the case here :( I'll still keep reading Lifehacker and Jalopnik; Gizmodo I usually just browse through. They have interesting posts sometimes. I like the Gawker sites.

Where did you see that? I've only seen people complaining about them, except on the heavily moderated Gawker sites.

Only good Gawker blog is Jalopnik (sometimes Kotaku, but 99% of the time Joystiq is much better). Gawker as an organization is basically a joke in my opinion.

I'm getting the impression that all this Gizmodo hate is following the whole iPhone in a bar thing; they got quite a lot of bad press and perhaps a reputation following that.

Twitter feedback from other readers has been fairly good. Would they really remove honest feedback comments that complain about the design, though? Sounds weird.

I've seen nothing but hate in the comments, but I would like to read what people who like it have to say.

Hate it, but I'll deal with it since I enjoy reading Gizmodo.

This.

Scrolling on the right hand side goes WAYYYY too fast.

Its set up for a tablet, while completely ignoring everything else.

That said, Giz gets way too opinion oriented and frankly immature from time to time.

They've moderated/removed comments before that were critical of their staff/editorials... esp Jesus or whatever his name is. I'll go to Giz for the stories, but I don't comment ever. But now I can't really find the stories anymore on Giz... and I don't give a crap about what Twitter says, but Reddit, here, neowin, I've yet to see anyone who likes it.

What were they thinking?

It's horrible. And now, I'm not going to go change a bunch of preferences to make it the way I like it.

They've become pretty irrelevant anyway.

Find the new site hard to read the sidebar, but luckily the uk.gizmodo.com works. Some of the stories seem a bit crap, a quick summing up in a single sentence what seems could of been an interesting story.

Everyone, change your bookmarks to ca.gizmodo.com :) It uses the old layout, the comments work, everyone's happy.

Bless you, and bless macrumors forums. You just saved two of my favorite sites, giz and jalop. I was going crazy.
