I will tell you right now: You will NOT be able to seperate the original back from the original bezel. If you buy that bezel off of eBay, go ahead and order a replacement back plate as well.

The two pieces are attached by some kind of strange wizardry that I almost broke both of them trying to get them apart and still failed.

Yes! i ordered teh bezel as well. Alot have trouble with seperating the bezel from the housing. but it is done by removing all the screws even the hidden ones and then running a case seperator between the two. It is only held together by light glue.

I have also found stealth black volume buttons over at SWbox. check em out guys!

i think the buttons would look great with a black bezel. now to find a vibrator switch with a black button.

keep the ideas coming!

also if you have deep pockets check out Knight creations up coming kevlar 49 housing at http://www.gigapascal.com
i have verified tehy will release the kevlar 49 housing and tiAIN treated buttons and bezel for a DIY kit. eliminating mail ins. For around $299

okay!!! for all you wondering the quality of that ebay link to the black bezel. I received mine in the mail today. awesome seller! great packaging no flaws or scratches. it actually HAS the mounts for the vibrator. which alot of bezels dont ( watchout ). this is a shiny black finish.. not flat black if you were wondering. it matches the oem black housing great! just thought id let everybody know that i am very satisfied with the quality of the bezel. it is metal and finished shiny black.

All black looks like the BAT PHONE

ha ha ha

Totally!!! Haha.

Also. You could try painting it yourself. I think sanding it before painting would help it stick. You'd have to tape up around the bezel and sand it lightly with fine sand paper so it's got a brushed look. Then you can remove it, guides on iFixit. Next make sure to tape the inside parts of the bezel so it fits on your phone still. Then find some paint and stuff that works for metal products and give it a once or twice over.

I think it could be done fairly easily.

I used to take apart my old Motorola Razr's and change the colors of different pieces of hardware, but they were never the same after I took them apart. I am wary to do that to an iphone. Besides, if anything ever happens to it, how can I take it to the apple store and get it fixed? I mean....wouldn't that void every type of warranty in the world? lol
