DJMastaWes said:Glossy, does not show "true" color. So for example, if your working on a graphic or editing a photo, the color on the screen, wont be the same color as if you were to print it.
Glossy gets a lot of glare with light and stuff, makeing some things harder to see. If your not useing it for graphics/photos/video editing and you will be useing it in darker areas a glossy screen is nice. However In general I would reccomend Matte.

Like I said, and the person above me said...ilovemonsters said:Is anybody really going off the colors on a laptop monitor anyway? I mean really... there are some many factors that change the color that you see on the screen and what is printed out. You need a high grade printer and a calibrated monitor in order to know for sure. Is anyone really going off the color on their mbp screen?![]()

the glossy screen is very nice. i have the latest macbook. HONESTLY, it is a really good feature and it is very nice to look at. you can't REALLY tell its there noramally, but it makes images on the screen look VERY nice.
what you should do is go to the closest apple store and SEE FOR YOURSELF.
don't let people make choices for you, make your own choises from what you've experienced!

gomatt said:glossy should be blow off the face of the earth. the ONLY reason, I am not buying a macbook now, is because of that damned screen. I need a macbook, but if it has that glossy screen, I would rather use a pencil and paper.
If you're doing graphic/photo work to any degree of seriousness, you're not going to be working off a 13" screen anyhow. So really, you'd be hooking it up to an external monitor that will be calibrated much better and thus, the MB's screen shouldn't really come into play at all.DJMastaWes said:HOWEVER, if your going to be doing graphic/photo work DO NOT get a glossy screen, DO NOT! If your not going to be doing graphic and photo work, then go by how you like the screens.
If you read the title.. it says MACBOOK PRO, so it's 15 or 17 inch... I mean, either way, graphics should not be done on laptops, but what ever the case is, hes asking for MBP, so IF someone happens to use a MBP for graphics Matte is the way to go...xfiftyfour said:If you're doing graphic/photo work to any degree of seriousness, you're not going to be working off a 13" screen anyhow.
