Sorry that you have to suffer with PWM. I hope one day a display technology can be implemented which can suit everyone's needs (micro LED?).

I have the SE in black as thats all work supplied me with. did want the red one but last it all matches. Battery life isn't as bad as I thought.
I find Barrett life adequate unless I watch a lot of YouTube or other streaming media. But since I’m pretty much always near a charger it’s not an issue. Once things are back to normal and I have to go into the office I suspect my usage habits will need to change

They were terrible as well, with most users needing to charge during the day, or top off at the very least. How quickly some forget...

not too sure about 6 but 6s and possibly 7 had really good battery life back when both had iOS9/10 until 12 when that OS was great battery wise and both devices especially 6s still had very good performance and stability now for iOS 13 and up it requires more of the battery than previous iOS’s so especially for 6s the battery life was sacrificed for stability for iOS 13

of course A13 has good battery saving technology for the iPhone SE but it isn’t much compared to the A12 and possibly A11

Still debating what to do merely because of the battery... maybe I’m just stupid for having researched so much! If it weren’t for the battery I’d go to the SE in a heartbeat. It’s my dream phone bc of the home button and screen size, etc. but I would plan on keeping it for many years so I would need the battery to actually hold! 😭

Were you content with the iPhone 7 battery back when it was new? With my very, very light usage, I get better battery life from the SE 2020 than I did the iPhone 7.

I did get monthly AppleCare+ for our SEs as I'm concerned future iPhones will all have OLED/PWM.

Absolutely, I loved everything about that phone and the battery life never bothered me. The only reason why I’m concerned is that so many people complain about the SE 2020’s battery health to decrease a lot in a short amount of time, which would mean it would have to be replaced in a matter of months or a year. So that’s the only thing that is stopping me, it’s literally all about the battery

May I also ask what AppleCare+ consists of? Thank you so much ☺️

I've had the SE since May 2020 and it's still fine. Settings reports 98% battery health.

As mentioned, I'm a very light phone user. My average daily iPhone screen on time is 30 minutes or less. I mostly just use it for quick lookups, messaging, short 1-minute calls (e.g. Where are you?) and the occasional pic. I can actually get away with charging the SE just every other day.

My iPhone 7 lasted 2 years with decent battery life with similar usage (typically 20-40% remaining at end of my 9-hour shift). With the SE, I typically have 50+% remaining so I expect the SE will be able to last just as long or longer.

Mind, ever since I got a wireless charger for the office, it's gotten a lot more convenient to charge my phone during the day. Instead of charging overnight, I've just been using the wireless charger to charge intermittently throughout the day.

AppleCare+ extends warranty as well as covers accidental damage (up to 2 every 12 month period, iirc). It also covers battery replacement. I pay $3.49 per month for AC+.

That is so comforting to hear. I have read many people reporting 90% or less of battery capacity after just a couple of months.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience. I truly appreciate it.
I basically use it for the same things, the only difference is that my mother tends to send me a lot of voice notes on WhatsApp so that might be the most demanding thing I do on it 😛 the rest I do on my iPad mini. Every now and then I might have days where I do use it a lot for pictures and videos but sporadically.

I did not know about that option, it's so convenient! I will definitely look into that if I do end up switching. That seems like a great safety net to have. Thank you again!
