I don’t really tag anyway, but Photos does scan your library, so you can search for things like “birds” and it will hopefully find all your bird photos. It also searches for faces and allows you to tag people. It‘s not perfect, but it has done a good job sorting my 3 kids from birth to present day. I do use albums, both shared and regular, but even that, not so much. I’m sure I could organize better. I‘ve just never been good at that one.
